This week my buddy Tomas jumps on the show and we talk about the recent firing of Jurgen Klinsmann and the lack of marketing on the part of US Soccer. Oz laments that you can find more advertising for the Mexican National Team at MLS games. 

This week we get ready for another battle between the United States and Mexico in Columbus. I also explain the meaning of the word "Molero" in the Mexican media when referring to the national team's exploits in the states. Also, an update on the MLS playoffs which no longer have a team from LA involved. 

This week, the playoffs roll on and I talk about the next generation of soccer supporters in this country.

This week I talk about how fitting it was the last game of the year at Avaya was rainy and dark. I also talk about decision day this Sunday and how the Quakes can play spoiler even though they are eliminated from the playoffs. 

In this episode, Tommy Thompson gets a rare start but still cannot find his place on the pitch. Dave Kaval says that Dom will be the coach "for a very long time" which makes zero sense. Finally, the Ultras are back.

This week I dive into the off-field drama between the Quakes front office and its largest supporter group, San Jose Ultras. For the un-initiated on September 10 in a game against Seattle, some smoke was set off in the Ultras section which led the front office to sanction the group. I don't really care to point fingers in either direction but I was curious as to why smoke was not allowed in the first place. Some said it was the FAA, some said it was the fire marshall but nobody seemed to know for sure. I went back to city documents from 2009 during the planning of the stadium to see if I could dig up more info.

In this episode, I talk about the Quakes tie in Colorado which makes the Quakes slim playoff chances much thinner. I also get into the Sports Illustrated article that paints a bleak picture of the NASL and how its folding change the American soccer pyramid.

This week I talk about the puzzling coaching decisions made by Dom Kinnear. In need of an offensive boost, the Quakes signed Henok Goitom then proceed to plop him on the bench where it is damn near impossible to score. A tie with Seattle at home sealed the season for the Quakes as it looks like the team is in coast mode until next years rebuild. 

This week I talk about the Ultras interesting chant choice during last week's friendly against Pachuca. I also venture out of the MLS world and talk about an equally strange decision by the Washington Spirit of the NWSL to play the national anthem at a strange time. And finally, the Quakes are still boring.

This is my longest episode to date. I never designed the show to go over 30 minutes but this is a huge week in the Quakes season and a potential new chapter for our beloved Quakes. As you may know by now the Quakes parted ways with GM and Quakes legend John Doyle. This episode I focus on that and what that could mean for the team and coach Dom Kinnear.
