Through looking at the lives of the disciples, we’ll see that true followers of Jesus live in a way that reflects their nearness to Him.

The major theme in Jesus’ ministry is introduced in Mark 2:12-3:6; He offers the Gospel and which is offensive to the self-righteous but delightful to the humble.

In Chapter 2 Jesus starts demonstrating forgiveness to people that seemed unforgivable. This was confusing and shocking! Jesus wanted people to see that while we think we know our bigger problem, Jesus shows that forgiveness is our biggest need.

As we look at the life of Jesus told by Mark, we see several aspects of Him. He is the great physician, is consistently prayerful and joyfully purifying. He is all these things while being astonishingly personal.

Being generous and ready to share, like 1 Timothy 6:18 instructs, works as a protection on our hearts from the trap of loving money. Giving protects us from the trap, unclenches our hands, and is the antidote to greediness in our hearts.

Mark’s approach was to record specific conversations and events from Jesus’s life to create a picture like a collage. He wanted to provide enough evidence from episodes of Jesus’ life to help people understand the real Jesus, and that he was the Messiah.

As we conclude this series, we see the grand plan to spread the Good News throughout the world was Jesus flowing His truth and fruit into 12 men. Everything rested upon these men, filled with the Holy Spirit, to overflow Jesus’ truth and fruit.

As we continue our journey of learning to overflow like Jesus, we look at confrontation. Before we confront someone, we must be willing to slow down and invest quality time with them. We do this because we love them and that's what Jesus modeled for us.

As we are transformed to be like Jesus, we will overflow like Jesus. To be most effective, we want to overflow the combination of truth and fruit. If truth and fruit are separated, then we are nothing like Jesus.
