Temptation always carries a bait that appeals to our natural desires. But, there's a hook under the bait that can lead us into sin, pain, and ultimately death.

The Bible talks a lot about the trap of money so we can be leery of how we view it. Don't look for your sense of joy in riches. True joy comes form the unseen; the spiritual side, not the material side.

We can start to say NO to being ruled by our circumstances and say YES to receiving God's wisdom as we deal with things in our lives. God will give us the wisdom we need when we ask, and He will give it generously!

James shows us how to become a mature Christian. In James 1:1-4, we'll look at how we can see joy in the midst of trials. Our view changes when we look from God's perspective.

Today, we'll look at how living in faithful obedience to God with a heightened expectation can have eternal impact. You never know how God will use you! You only need to be faithful to Him and show and tell others about Jesus.

How do we deal with past mistakes in our own lives? Sometimes we rationalize, blame others, or live in denial. As we see in Acts 3, even if you've made huge mistakes in your life, you are still welcome in God's family if you repent.

The Prayer the disciples prayed is a powerful model of how we should pray. They think about God's work instead of asking Him to change the circumstances. We're reminded to surrender our will to God instead of trying to solve our own problems.

In Acts 2, the Spirit radically impacts the lives of the disciples and that's how we should feel. We should want to talk all the time to everyone about how our lives have been impacted by the Lord. It should be the most natural thing in the world.

We are not meant to just sit around with other Christians, we are called to carry the Good News of Jesus Christ. But we don't have to do it on our own. We are given the power of the Holy Spirit!

The sabbath is a weekly reminder that your happiness is not dependent on your striving for accomplishment. Taking time to stop and soak in the Word of God will make your heart glad.
