I wrangled guest hosts April Whalen and Clayton Mills to come chat with me about this title "Son of Man". Jesus refers to himself using this title more than anything else. Apparently, it is important.
The reference was well known to ancient Hebrew people. Daniel 7 tells us about a dream that Daniel has. He describes the "Ancient of Days": a figure seated in authority, surrounded by thousands of thousands. Beasts are being judged and a "Son of Man" rides in on the clouds. That Son is given dominion, authority, glory, and a kingdom that has no end.
While it may not be part of our day to day Christian vocabulary, it would serve us well to know more about the title Jesus uses for himself to demonstrate his complete humanity and divinity.

We are taking a look at chapter 6 today. If you want to see how I mark up the text each week, go to my website and find a social media site to follow. I post a short video each week of what that looks like. 

This week I did NOT underline my verbs or box connecting words. I took my cue from John; to focus on the concept and not the action. There are 2 huge miracles in this chapter but John only wrote about them in 21 verses. The other 50 verses were dedicated to the concept that Jesus was trying to teach. It isn't about the miracle that solves a temporary issue. The point is actually the gift of the miracle worker who comes to address our eternal life with His eternal words.
