  • Episode 53: The Big Lebowski
We talk about the Big Lebowski. There's something immensely charming about it. Not to mention Jeff Bridges. He's phenomenal as The Dude!It was fun to talk about this movie and it will always have a place in my shelf. Cheers!

  • Episode 51: Nightcrawler
"I feel like gripping you by your ears and shouting "I'm not fucking interested. But instead I'm gonna go home and do some accounting. This is an excellent movie that explores sociopathy, ambition and the viewer's moral code. It's uncomfortable to watch but it looks absolutely gorgeous and Jake does not disappoint. Great film, if you haven't seen it, you definitely should.

  • Episode 50: The Strong Female Lead
Today we're gonna talk about the strong female lead and mention some of our favourites, it was honestly pretty fascinating to see how 10 years of difference in age can affect our lists of film and T.V. We need more women not only as film characters but also as people of import in the industry. Support the entertainment that encourages this. Cheers!

  • Episode 47: Birdman (Or The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance)
What are we doing here?Talking about Birdman. Man, that sounded funnier in my head. Look, we're talking Birdman. It's a great film, Alejandro G. Iñarratu did a brilliant job directing this film and although me and Chris loved it, it was for entirely different reasons. That's kind of my favourite thing about this movie. We recommend the hell out of it. Here's a link to watch it: https://www.amazon.com/Birdman-Michael-Keaton/dp/B00TPJE3ZK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482208775&sr=8-1&keywords=birdman

  • Episode 46: The 400 Blows - Criterion Collection
This is a really fun episode. I hated this movie, Chris loved it. We had a really nice conversation exploring why and what we each learned thanks to the movie. There's also poop stories! We're kind of all over the fucking place sometimes. I dig it. • Episode 45: Heat
Today we talk about Heat, the Michael Mann movie where Al Pacino and Robert Deniro try to kill to each other. It's great, despite it being about an hour too long. Honestly, I'm a little fascinated by how me and Chris found such different elements of the movie entertaining and effective. We both really like the movie but I think it's for entirely different reasons. Except Pacino and Deniro, that's enough to love any movie. Cheers!-B

  • Episode 44: Frayed Fabric Ft. Camille Dalke and Devan Penegar
This is gonna be a long description, bear with us: Also, Trigger Warning: We cover sexual assault as a topic, if you're listening and think it may trigger any unwanted PTSD symptoms or anything along that vein. Thanks for tuning in, but please turn the episode off and be healthy <3So! For this episode we have the lovelies Devan Penegar and Camille Dalke. The creative forces behind the Documentary Frayed Fabric, an interview based documentary aiming to let sexual assault survivors talk about their assault and trauma. Devan got the idea for the film after realizing that opening up about his experience was amazingly cathartic for him. So he's encouraging other people with similar experiences to do the same. I admire their need for a nuanced conversation about a complicated topic and the lengths they've gone to start it. It was a brilliant show to record and probably one of the best conversations we've had on the show. Now it's time for some Links!Their Gofund me page: https://www.gofundme.com/2sbk3sq4 They're asking for 3,000 dollars and that may seem like a lot but they're a third of the way there and they've gotten there with small donations. Anything you can give helps and gets them closer to their goal. We're not gonna Hog all the interviews, here's an article Creative Loafing Charlotte wrote about them and the project: http://clclt.com/charlotte/sexual-assault-survivor-attempts-to-help-others-like-him-through-film/Content?oid=3803806Throughout the episode you'll hear us reference an Essay. This is a link to that essay: https://devantpenegar.wordpress.com/2016/01/21/i-dream-of-goats/It's honestly beautifully written and the reason Devan was put on my radar to begin with. I listened to him read this essay at an UNC Charlotte event about sexual assault and what effect it's had on the people that have gone through this trauma. It's a brilliant essay. That's it! Thank you guys so much for listening and thanks again to Devan and Camille for coming in and having a great conversation with us.
