Old friend Sam Whitmore joins us to write about a fictitious open letter he wrote from the head of a PR agency to its marketing VP client telling just how badly the relationship was being managed. The letter touched off a strong response from readers of Whitmore's Media Survey service, with most agency people agreeing that Whitmore had said what many of them have long felt. In this podcast, Whitmore explains his motivations for writing the open letter and tells what platforms should get more PR attention as the B2B buying process changes.

YouTube is always up to something new or interesting. This month they reach back to 2007 and interview a family that build their own home, using DIY videos from YouTube. I also talk about YouTube.com/testtube a landing page to learn about their latest experiments currently featuring 4k video playlists and 4k videos with 60 frames per second (FPS). Playing one of these streams is a real test of your network and device(s). Finally I talk about the Super Chat API which allows live stream hosts to monetize enhanced chat features during the stream. Aimed at Gamers, but available for everyone, this could be a way to raise money for charities and other projects through live streams with micro and macro influencers. This joins other tools allowing live streaming hosts to "enhance their streams by adding chatbots, overlays, polls and more."

YouTube has 3 different APIs (Data, Analytics & Reporting) which together can allow you to create applications that help create video, or facilitate video sharing, or gather meaningful metrics around those activities.
