This episode is dedicated to my Black women grappling with the repercussions of Black excellence, which often leads to stress-related illnesses, fatigue, and burnout. I have the pleasure of interviewing Devin Spady, an accomplished scholar, author, daughter, and marketer. We dive into the fatigue and burnout that many Black women face in the corporate world. But it's not all about the struggles; we also share the steps we're taking and have taken to shift from a hustle mindset to focusing on our well-being and fostering our curiosities through hobbies. We also talk about how we think we got here... (SPOILER ALERT: generational trauma and the survival mindset).
