This episode addresses a submission that I received regarding marriage. The questions centered around knowing whether or not you are ready and what to expect once you are married.
Oftentimes, we tend to connect vulnerability to pain. It's terrifying to believe that vulnerability is a good thing if you've experienced disappointment and heartache in the past. But without vulnerability, we are unable to experience true love and develop fulfilling relationships. As we truly seek to understand the meaning behind vulnerability and how to practice it with confidence, we'll discover the power and ability it has to help us live the happiest most fulfilling lives.
We all have moments when we are forced to reassess decisions we've made to ensure they are still taking us down the path of growth and happiness. Sometimes, we receive confirmation that we're headed in the right direction regardless of the challenges that we're facing, and sometimes course correction is necessary. Either way, stumbling blocks, mistakes, and course corrections are all a part of life but we can choose how we respond to them, apply what we've learned, and ultimately grow and move forward.
We all have those moments when we travel down the 'what if' rabbit hole and become consumed with fear and anxiety, but as we practice living in the present, we'll find it becomes easier to make decisions based on clarity and perspective.
It is so crucial that we recognize those moments when we need to take a minute for ourselves. This isn't selfish; in fact, it's necessary. One way to practice self-love is learning how to take a breath.
Being kind to ourselves is one of the hardest things to do on bad days. I'm here to tell you that you are stronger than you realize and it's OK to not be perfect. Just because you've lost one round, doesn't mean you've lost the match. Take a breath, stand up, and fight again. You've got this.
Sometimes it's hard to practice self-love when the world tries telling us who we need to be and what we need to be about. You are perfect just the way you are; never let a label, stereotype, or particular "box" determine your worth or your value.
We all have moments when we feel lost, scared, and unsure of where we're headed. At times the fog can be thick and feel consuming; but as we recognize, face it, and fight it, we can lift it.
