- Treat each like/ comment like a virtual business card.

- Try doing different tests for growing your account. For example, spend an hour engaging with other accounts within your community by using a local gio-tag.

- Happiness is all that matters. Make sure you’re having fun with what you’re doing.

- Try posting more carousel posts with 5 to 10 pictures and videos of the process. Test this to see if it performs better than signal photo posts.

- Google “Instagram” and read articles that come up on latest trends and algorithm upgrades.

- Jeff is crazy and doesn’t draft posts.

- Remember, we all started with 0 followers. Don’t get consumed by the number and focus on making an impact within the community.

As if balancing life and work wasn’t hard enough. Now, add trying to grow a social media presence and things can get pretty overwhelming. In this episode, we share our personal struggles and some methods on avoiding Instagram burnout.

A few take aways form this weeks episode:

- Turn off your notifications to help keep you focused.

- Identify your limitations and only do what makes you comfortable.

- Try deleting the app to make it more difficult to check on things.

- Think about what you want to get from Instagram. Set goals and establish a level of importance with the platform. This will help you to determine how much time you should be spending on platform.

- Over communicate. By telling those around you how important it is to be engaged within your community, you’ll help them understand why you need time to spend on Instagram. This will also help with your own mental health.

- Schedule some time off Instagram. Mark recommends taking one day off your phone a week to spend time with your family or doing other hobbies.

- There’s a difference between physically being present and mentally being present. Put your time, energy and focus into the things that are important to you. Give the people around you the presences that they deserve. You’re not going to lose your followers because you spend the afternoon with your family.

- Remember, it’s just Instagram. Try to remember why you started and keep things fun. If you’re not happy with a post you can always delete it later on.

Consistency is key and if you want to grow your account, you need to treat your Instagram like a business. Set goals, plan ahead and execute.
