  • Our Fall and the Gospel

The fall of mankind is the great fault in this broken world. It is a schism that runs straight through every person, family, and society on the face of this planet. We must come to grips with this terrible news before the gospel of Jesus Christ will become sweeter than honey to our lips.

1 Corinthians 15:22 : For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

“I do think that the best preaching of the gospel is when the preacher himself enjoys it, when he himself is heartily in love with it; that is a part of the unction that God gives to go with it. When a cook is preparing a dainty dish, methinks he smiles as he sends it up to his lord's table, and he has some enjoyment of it himself. I love to preach a gospel of which I feel the sweetness in my own soul. So, dear hearer, if you begin to feel the sweetness of hearing the gospel, you shall feel more of it. Those who are tired of preaching are those who do not often hear it. If it is the gospel of Jesus Christ, and you have often heard it, you want to hear it again.” - Charles Spurgeon

    Key Texts: Romans 5: 12,18-19

My guest joining me this week on the Sunday series is my brother Bryce. Bryce is getting his undergraduate degree in philosophy and hopes to get his MDiv. from a seminary after he completes his undergrad. He hopes to be a pastor shepherding Gods people one day.

    • Redeemed by Christ

Jesus has has done so many things by spilling his blood for us on the cross. Among those is that of redemption. Redeeming something entails paying a ransom to restore something to yourself but also at a cost to yourself, not because the thing is inherently worth it. There is an element of worth in the transaction but to God we are by no means worthy of the death of his son. It ought to humble ourselves into subjection to him.

    • Fellowship

This past weekend was my bachelor party! I am mere days away from getting married and I am beyond excited to be united to my bride, the love of my life. To celebrate such an event my brother and a few friends went on a hiking trip for my bachelor party! It was an amazing time and I was reminded of the importance of Christain fellowship and how more important it will be to me as a married man in desperate need of prayer to love and cherish my wife as Christ did the church. We didn't have time to continue our series because of this party but I hope you enjoy this quick side episode. Thanks for listening!

      Key Text: Psalm 133: 1

Joining me this week is Noah, a close friend of mine. He just finished his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and works part time at a prosthetic practice. He is a follower of Christ. Also joining me this week on the Sunday series is my brother Bryce. • Book Review: A Magnificent Catastrophe by Edward J. Larson

I am not including this book review in my monthly book review episode because there is far too much to interact with. To do this book justice I needed to create a longer episode exposing some of the helpful things it gets into. I hope you learn something and walk away with some thoughts whether you agree or not!

      • The Centrality of the Gospel

This Sunday Bryce and I walk through the Gospel, the doctrine of first importance to the Christian. We must get the Gospel and we must believe in that correct Gospel to be saved, for no other gospel has the power to save! Thanks for listening and tuning in to the For The King podcast!

“This is why Paul upholds the teaching of the gospel in such a forceful way ... Seeing such an example and such a picture of man’s great weakness and fickleness, Paul states that the truth of the gospel must supersede anything that we may devise … he is showing us that we ought to know the substance of the doctrine which is brought to us in the name of God, so that our faith can be fully grounded upon it. Then we will not be tossed about with every wind, nor will we wander about aimlessly, changing our opinions a hundred times a day; we will persist in this doctrine until the end. This, in brief, is what we must remember.”

      • Masculinity & Femininity Everywhere Else

This Sunday we finish our series on Biblical Gender Roles. We have seen how gender roles apply in homes and churches, but to keep ourselves consistent with what scripture teaches, we must extend its application to the civil sphere and beyond as well. God has designed the world a certain way. Gods word, logic, reasoning, mathematics, etc. are all used in God's world. They help guide us and are used in every walk of life. Thus, is it no different for gender roles, they apply in all scenarios. Thanks for listening and enjoy!

      • Analysis of First Wave Feminism

Bryce has abandoned me to the pit. I will rouse myself and hold fast to the LORD in this trial, he will help me to fly SOLO this week on the For The King podcast. We have been slowly walking through a biblical worldview when considering gender roles. This week I use Zach Garris' book as a resource to quote a few feminist from he 1st wave in the 1850's. They knew what the bible CLEARLY taught about biblical gender roles and by golly did they hate it. I labor to expose you all to what they said about biblical principles and analyze what has caused them to say such things. Lets not let the feminist understand what the bible clearly teaches about the patriarchy be more robust and accurate than ours... *ahem* egalitarians/complementarians *ahem*.
