God’s economy contradicts human status systems. Wealth, power, beauty, office, and influence carry no weight before Him. The poor in the world are “rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom.” The episode dissects this reversal and applies it to Christian life, global missions, and the unreached.
Primary Texts:
The biblical command is to listen. Stop. Attend. Refuse favoritism. Evaluate people by spiritual condition rather than external status. The poor whom God chooses stand as evidence that His kingdom prioritizes faith rather than worldly metrics. Material poverty does not prevent spiritual abundance. Pastors laboring in remote regions often exhibit stability, joy, and conviction that supersede Western comforts.

A candid, faith-forward conversation with neverthirst’s Chief Development Officer, Brandon, on turning compassion into commitment, why stories beat statistics, and what donors need to know about impact in the 10/40 Window.
In this episode of For the Kingdom, host Spencer Sutton sits down with longtime friend, Brandon, who has served in development since 2012 and now leads as Chief Development Officer. Brandon shares the moment the water crisis first hit home, the missionsional DNA that drew him to neverthirst, and the South Sudan field experience that changed his life’s trajectory. He explains why he took a 70% pay cut to join a two-person nonprofit, why he intended to stay five years but never left, and how donor partnership equips local pastors to bring both clean water and the hope of the gospel to some of the hardest-to-reach places on earth.

In this very first episode of For the Kingdom, we share the heart behind this new podcast — and the story of how neverthirst began.
What started in 2006 with a sermon from Psalm 67 and a question — “Have you disconnected God’s blessing from His purpose?” — has become a global movement to bring clean water and the gospel of Jesus Christ to some of the hardest-to-reach places on earth.
In this episode, co-founder Spencer Sutton walks listeners through the origins of neverthirst, the powerful way God stirred a few friends to pray, and how those prayers led to life-changing impact in countries like India, South Sudan, and Ethiopia.
