Last episode of our Right Back player type scouting series where we look at AS Monacos Vanderson

On 18 December 2020, Vanderson signed a 4-year contract with Grêmio. He made his professional debut with the club in a 2–1 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A win over Atlético Goianiense on 28 December 2020.

On 1 January 2022, Vanderson signed for Ligue 1 club Monaco on a contract until June 2027. The transfer fee paid to Grêmio was reportedly €11 million.

Physical Attributes:

Vanderson possesses excellent physical attributes, with good speed and acceleration that allows him to cover ground quickly, and agility that helps him change direction and turn with ease. He also has impressive strength and is a robust player who can compete physically with opponents.

Defensive Abilities:

Defensively, Vanderson is an outstanding player. He is a tenacious defender who is not afraid to put his body on the line to make a tackle or interception. He has good positioning sense and reads the game well, which allows him to anticipate the movements of his opponents and make interceptions. He is also a strong one-on-one defender and has the ability to stick close to his man and force them into making mistakes.

Attacking Abilities:

Vanderson is an excellent attacking full-back, possessing good dribbling skills, speed, and an excellent crossing ability. He likes to overlap and get forward to support his team's attacking play. He has a good sense of timing when it comes to making runs into the opposition's final third, and he has an eye for a pass that can create goal-scoring opportunities for his team.

Technical Abilities:

Technically, Vanderson is a skilled player. He has excellent control and is comfortable on the ball, which allows him to make accurate passes and maintain possession of the ball under pressure. His crossing ability is also noteworthy, with an impressive range of crossing and the ability to put the ball into dangerous areas.

Overall, Vanderson is an outstanding right-back who possesses excellent physical and technical attributes. He is a tenacious defender who is strong in one-on-one situations and has the ability to support his team's attacking play with his speed and crossing ability. He is a young player with lots of potential and could develop into a top-quality player with more experience and development.
