On this episode Dustin and Mike discuss the 2011 prequel (or is it remake?) of John Carpenter's The Thing, The Thing. Our coverage of Carpenter's film is, by far, our single most popular episode to date so we thought that an analysis of van Heijningen and Heisserer's film at the roundtable was the best possible way to celebrate that. Add to that the fact that it's Carpenter's birthday this week and you have a solid recipe for great podcasting.

Kicking off our third annual FYC Halloween Fright Fest Spooktacular is the first entry in our Films of Guillermo del Toro series, Cronos. This Spooktacular, Dustin and Mike have decided to cover four of del Toro's less talked about movies that, despite being fabulously good and entertaining, they do not currently have a place on the SIght & Sound list of the greatest movies of all time.
