Are you even joking right now. We just hit 100 episodes.
It's time for our most requested episode ever, the 1995 Joe Esterhas / William Freidkin collaboration with the guy from NYPD Blue, the femme fatale from The Last Seduction, and that guy from The Sopranos who has the awesome restaurant who I think did A Bronx Tale.
We hit up the least erotic and least thrilling erotic thriller of the 90s. This thing is a train wreck, but we had so much fun. Come along as we spend more than 2 hours breaking down a 94 minute disaster that is one of the most entertaining experiences we have had watching moves together.
Here's to 100 more!
Join us as we deep dive the behind the scenes of True Lies. There are Oscar winners besides Dame Jamie Lee. We discover that Tom Arnold isn't as trash as we originally assumed.
This was the most expensive move ever made and is high on the list of the top grossing R rated films ever, but didn't make all that much money.
We also deep dive Dame Tia Carrere's 36yo newly single mother of 2 appearance in Playboy in 2003. There are some wild things that happen, but nothing as crazy as the survey of Sex in the Office. Look upon my works ye mighty and despair... the mid 2000's were more trash than you remember.
We are back and we are talking about True Lies.
Welcome to the podcast, Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold. How have we made it to 98 episodes without either of you getting on board. Both of you will be back... see what I did there.
Jenny and Zack are a married couple who grew up in the most conservative purity culture church around and are now unpacking what that meant by watching the movies that were forbidden in our childhood (hint, Zack's parent's took him and his friends to see this for his 14th birthday). Horrific violence against certain groups was fine, but there was some swearing and things got a little sexy. Awkwardness ensued.
Welcome back to our first deeper dive into the history and time behind Cruel Intentions. It's been a while since we have done a Going Deeper episode. Zack has got his research hat back on and Jenny has been drinking Rose. Come along as we talk about the 2 adaptations of Les Liaisons Dangerous that were released back to back in the 80s. Zack was today years old when he realized Cyrano de Bergerac was a real person. It's almost like next week you are going to tell me that Toulouse Lautrec from Moulin Rouge was based on a real person. We get into the box office. We get into the 2000 MTV movie awards. We talk sequels, and more sequels, and TV show pilots. We somehow manage to completely omit the fact that the director of this film is one of the more prolific TV directors of the last decade and now only directs adaptations of romance novels starring the kid from Big Daddy and Friends. This thing goes off the rails.
None of us come out of this episode unscathed, but we are alive and ready to start recording weekly again. Come join us.
'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony that's life... sucker love is heaven sent..."
Holy 1780's erotica Batman, we just did Cruel Intentions. Zack loved this movie so much he owns most of the wardrobe from the filming. Jenny is vaguely aware of it. Come along with us as we dive back in 24 years later and see if it holds up. Spoiler alert... some of this is problematic at best, but there are some beautiful people doing wild things, and that is what Forbidden Cinema is all about.
Buckle up, folks, this is going to be a long one. Zack and Jenny return to the world of feature length films after our season of TV shows. And boy do we do it with a bang!
This is where it all started. This made for Showtime pilot walked so that Sex and the City, The Sopranos, and Game of Thrones could fly.
Join us as we discuss all of the dick grabbing techniques in play. We get to see our favorite mopey David Duchovny's awesome dog Stella. We get one of the dirtiest players from American Gladiators facing off with David Duchovny is a trippy, shirtless, champagne fueled living room basketball game as a climax. We also get to hear about Electronic Vibratory Transmission Forces.
Sometimes we tell you to watch the movie, sometimes we tell you just to come along with us. This is a slow starter, but the wacky basketball climax is worth the watch, so check it out, and join us.
God save the Queen of Dicks!!!
Minx is back!!!
Pandemics, network changes, and buyouts couldn't kill this show. We are back to recap the last season and move forward into the next.
Ok, here it is. We have finished Season 1. It is back to standard def if we want to watch any more.
Come back with us to the Ramada Inn for a Dominatrix workshop. Our protagonist surprises the staff with her whipping technique and craziness ensues. This one is quick and to the point. We have figured out a formula and now we are running with it.
We have Indiana Jones whip sounds. We get to see yet another lightbulb striptease, but this time of a man. We get a new kind of therapy session. Zack spends a couple of minutes describing in great detail that moment where a tight top gets pulled down over boob critical mass and you get that satisfying pop. We also fade out series 1 on a man thong.
Thanks for sticking with us through this wild journey. Next week we watch the movie that started it all, then try to get back into some more traditional forbidden fare. It has been a journey
We are almost at the end of our journey through the first season of this groundbreaking show. This one has it all. Two pool hustlers find each other and go on a journey of self discovery, shouting at each other, overly intense power games, and steamy sex.
This episode has biker bars in the middle of the day, pool contests at a strip club, apartments that are way too nice for the jobs people have, dirty water alley sex, and so many 90s outfits. Also, this has Paula Barbieri in it. If you don't know, listen to the episode and find out. She has some wild true crime connections.
Hey everybody, we are rounding the corner and coming to the end of our dive into the 1992 first season of everybody's favorite ladies cable erotica show starring Mulder and Joey.
This episode is wild...
Four badass soldier ladies have the weekend off from armying and go to a dive bar in ball gowns and things go off the rails... Is this the origin story of the Nashville bachelorette party?
This episode features motorcycle bullfighting, irresponsible playful assault rifle use during sex, so much licking of tequila off of bodies, opera length gloves at a dive bar, police abuse of chokeholds, alcoholism played off as a "phase of grief", and a Sheen/Esteves.
