They say as the family goes, so goes the nation, and although that saying is true, statistics show us that as the father goes, so goes the family. With this in mind you would think many churches would prioritize strategically targeting and reaching out to men in their communities. However, many men feel completely alienated from church and would rather find their support from the godless manosphere or red pill movement. So why is the church failing men so badly? On this episode of forge and Anvil we will venture to guess.
We live in an age of fast food, endless streaming services, and sedentary jobs. As a result, American men have become physically weak. Observing this fact has lead to many commentators on Christian twitter to push for men of Christ to get back into the gym and regain the discipline that comes from regular strength training. In response to this, another group of commentators has come out in opposition to the first group and is sounding the alarm that desiring to be strong is idolatry. We've talked before on this show about fat pastors and the dangers of lacking disciplines in important areas. On this episode of Forge and Anvil Michael and I will be joined by Professional strongman and strength training guru, Matt Reynolds to discuss why we believe Christian men should aspire to be strong.
In todays America if you tear down a statue of Satan you will be charged with a hate crime. If you tear down a statue of Thomas Jefferson, you’re called brave and inspiring. Ouija boards can be purchased readily at major stores like target, but if you buy a bible you may be on a government watchlist. So where did the rise of satanism, witchcraft, and other pagan religions come from? On this episode of Forge and Anvil we will discuss that very question. All this and more so stick around.
