Reflect on the strength of Jesus' words. Though these leaders were supposed to be religious guides, they had lost their way. They needed Jesus' firmness, courage, and directness. They needed to be confronted and told the hard, unvarnished truth about their sin. Examine your life—is there an area where Jesus needs to confront you? It might not be as grave as the scribes and Pharisees, but He desires to address all sins. Open yourself to Him, allowing Him to free you from your most challenging struggles. Be grateful for this grace.
