Today Perry and Shawna land on “Forgive our sins” in the Lord’s prayer.  If we are in Christ and he has forgiven us all our sins, why do we still need to confess our sins?  First Shawna shows us that confessing specific sin transforms us because it’s painful.  We see the pain we’ve caused.  The pain changes us and the forgiveness we’re given empowers us to sin less.  Then Perry shows us that we’re in an unbreakable relationship with God.  We are forgiven of all our sins.  But confession of sin deepens our unbreakable relationship with the Lord and deepens our intimacy with him.  And finally Shawna shows us that our sin doesn’t define us.  We are dearly loved children of God.  And when we know we’re dearly loved it frees us to confess our sins, to learn from our failures, and to share our stories of failure to bring hope to those who feel they’ve out sinned God’s grace.
