  • Sunday School - Psalm 103 - Part 4
Psalm 103 is one of Scripture's richest invitations to worship. Charles Spurgeon once said that "this one hundred and third Psalm has ever seemed to us to be the Monte Rosa of the divine chain of mountains of praise, glowing with a ruddier light than any of the rest." In July, Elder Adam Ruf will walk us through David's call to "bless the Lord" by remembering who God is and what He has done. This psalm lifts our eyes to the character of God—His forgiveness, His compassion, His lovingkindness, and His sovereignty in our lives that never fails.

  • My People Restored
Main Points 1. God disciplines His people in order to restore them (2:2–23). 2. God redeems His people in order to restore them (3:1–5). This sermon explores the prophetic book of Hosea, using the metaphor of an unfaithful marriage to illustrate Israel's spiritual adultery and God's relentless pursuit of restoration. The preacher emphasizes that God disciplines His people not for abandonment but to bring them back to a right relationship with Him. Key themes include the futility of seeking satisfaction in idols and the supernatural nature of divine love that redeems even when humanity is unworthy. The message concludes by connecting Hosea's actions to Christ's redemptive work, inviting listeners to repent, return to God, and embrace the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

  • How To Not Leave A Mess Behind
The sermon warns believers against spiritual self-confidence by examining the Israelites' wilderness journey and their subsequent fall due to sin. It outlines four key principles for maintaining spiritual stability: recognizing that all success comes from God, understanding that pride precedes destruction, never underestimating the power of the flesh, and heeding the warning to take heed lest one fall. The message emphasizes that while sinful actions have irreversible consequences, genuine repentance leads to God's forgiveness and restoration. Ultimately, the preacher urges the audience to rely on God's strength rather than their own abilities to avoid damaging their testimony and leaving a legacy of failure.

How does the holy supper remind and assure you that you share in Christ's one sacrifice on the cross and in all his benefits? A. In this way: Christ has commanded me and all believers to eat this broken bread and to drink this cup in remembrance of him. With this command come these promises: First, as surely as I see with my eyes the bread of the Lord broken for me and the cup shared with me, so surely his body was offered and broken for me and his blood poured out for me on the cross. Second, as surely as I receive from the hand of the one who serves, and taste with my mouth the bread and cup of the Lord, given me as sure signs of Christ's body and blood, so surely he nourishes and refreshes my soul for eternal life with his crucified body and poured-out blood. 76 Q. What does it mean to eat the crucified body of Christ and to drink his poured-out blood? A. It means to accept with a believing heart the entire suffering and death of Christ and thereby to receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life. But it means more. Through the Holy Spirit, who lives both in Christ and in us, we are united more and more to Christ's blessed body. And so, although he is in heaven and we are on earth, we are flesh of his flesh and bone of his bone. And we forever live on and are governed by one Spirit,as the members of our body are by one soul. 77 Q. Where does Christ promise to nourish and refresh believers with his body and blood as surely as they eat this broken bread and drink this cup? A. In the institution of the Lord's Supper.....
