ROBONIX
Denver, USA
Robonix found a passion for music at a very young age. While perusing old cassette tapes as a child, he learned that there is a perfect song for every moment and every activity. As a teenager, he began learning music theory and practiced on various wind and string instruments and eventually found himself playing guitar and vocals in a few punk and hardcore bands. Being influenced by his older brother who played hard, industrial house in the late '90s and early '00s, he was always intrigued by electronic music. After experiencing his first rave while in college, he began experimenting with DJing, recording mixes for friends and playing house parties. Hungry for more, he and a friend landed a residency hosting a weekly house music party at a small club in Denver, began getting more involved in the local underground music scene, and started their own promotion company, Granny Milk Events. Through Granny Milk, the two were able to host and share the decks with international artists such as Edu Imbernon, Nicolas Masseyeff, and Miguel Bastida.
As years progressed and he became more immersed in the music, he began gravitating more toward techno; finding particular fondness to the emotional, cerebral, and hypnotic elements of deep techno. Eventually, it became time to reinvent himself, he took a temporary hiatus, purchased a set of turntables, began a record collection, and harnessed his musical creativity to learning to play vinyl. This mix is a culmination of that journey as he is emerging from his musical hibernation , and a journey in and of itself. One hour of all vinyl, acid tinged melodies and cerebral rhythms.
