    In this episode, J. C. Rede introduces Stave II of Charles Dickens' classic tale, "A Christmas Carol." The episode then dives into the second stave, where Scrooge is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past. The ghost takes Scrooge on a journey through his childhood and early adulthood, showing him the joy and love he once experienced. Scrooge is confronted with the consequences of his greed and is forced to confront his own transformation. The stave ends with Scrooge pleading with the ghost to show him no more.

  • A Christmas Carol: Stave I - Marley's Ghost

    In this episode of "Forward Into The Past," J.C. Rede continues his retelling of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." He starts with Stave I, where we learn about the death of Jacob Marley and the introduction of Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge is portrayed as a cold and miserly man who has no interest in the holiday season. However, his nephew tries to convince him to embrace the Christmas spirit, but Scrooge dismisses him. After his nephew leaves, two gentlemen visit Scrooge to ask for a donation to help the poor, but he refuses. Later that night, Scrooge is visited by the ghost of Jacob Marley, who warns him that he will be visited by three spirits. Scrooge is skeptical but agrees to listen to Marley's message.

Nick intercepts a special delivery letter that confirms their suspicions. He instructs his assistants, Chick and Patsy, to gather more information and keep an eye on Gus DeWitt, the intended recipient of the letter. The episode ends with Nick determined to apprehend all the criminals involved in the planned crime.

Nick Carter finds Arthur Gordon, who is involved in a threatening situation, at police headquarters. Despite the evidence that seems to incriminate Gordon, Nick believes in his innocence and promises to pull him out of the mess. Gordon explains that he visited Tilly Lancey, who claimed to have compromising letters from Gordon's political opponent, John Madison. However, Gordon refused to engage in such despicable means to win the election. After Gordon's arrest, Nick investigates further and discovers inconsistencies that suggest Gordon is being framed. He confides in his colleagues and plans to find evidence to prove Gordon's innocence before the election.
