It is imperative that we renounce war, so that we can focus on more important goals and not squander all of our resources on this wasteful, destructive and inhumane practice.

We're talking about NAFTA again, continuing on the speech delivered by Bill Clinton in 1993.

What was promised that NAFTA would deliver? Did any of those promises come true? What is the real deal behind NAFTA? How is the rhetoric different from the reality?

Despite the promises, NAFTA has not been good for labor, or economic growth, or small business or the environment. Here's why.

A society that is totally organized around profits will never be a Utopia, because Utopia requires a range of public institutions that are not profitable to big business. Big business will always oppose labor unions, community theaters, social security, etc., because these are not "profitable."

Also, a society that is focused on war will never be a Utopia, because war is the opposite of what we need in so many ways.
