Jesus experienced temptation just as we do, yet he endured it without sin. It is that very experience that qualifies Him not only as our perfect mediator, but also our sympathizer, one who understands the trials we face. Therefore, when we encounter these trials, we must turn to Jesus and hold Him fast as one who understands and pleads on our behalf.

Hebrews 5:1-10

Jesus is not only better than Moses, but also Aaron, who was a High Priest. Jesus set aside his Sonship so that he might suffer and demonstrate perfect obedience. It is through his excellent and perfect performance that supremely qualifies Him to be our High Priest and need no other.

Hebrews 3:7-19

As Believers we are warned against listening to an unbelieving heart. It seeks to place doubt where we trust, and disconnect us from our fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ. If we do not pay attention and take guard, we will surely exchange the rich promises of God for the cheap, temporal, and unfulfilling promises of the world. Our only hope is to daily exhort one another to place our confidence in Jesus and rest in Him.

Hebrews 4:1-13

Let us not be like the Israelites who failed to enter God’s rest because of their disobedience. We must not take for granted God’s promises. While the promise of rest stands, we are encouraged to fear the result of failure. This is not to drive us toward attempting to merit rest on our own, but rather to reveal our desperate need for Jesus and his perfect obedience which is the means by which we enter into rest with the Lord.

Hebrews 3:1-6

Moses was the respected servant of God’s house and testified about what was to come. Jesus is the Son of God, the builder of house of God, and came to fulfill what was foretold. Jesus is The Apostle and The High Priest and will not fail us. It is these excellent truths that lay the foundation for our confidence in Him alone.

Hebrews 2:5-18

If we rely on our own human nature for purpose and fulfillment, we will fall short. Jesus has fulfilled mankind’s ultimate purpose, defeated our enemy, and secured our hope. There is nothing that we need that cannot be found at the cross where Christ died. His death was effective, sufficient, and profitable. Our hope is in Him!
