..I remember something I read in a book, which you’ve probably heard me mention many times, called The Art of the Start by Guy Kawasaki, one of the people who helped start Apple. He talked about the concept of “frame or be framed.” You have to decide what the purpose of your life is and how you want it to go so you can frame it.

I looked up the word “frame.” It comes from Middle English and has to do with preparing the timber for a house. It’s still used in that way because you frame up a house before you build the rest of it. It’s really important to develop our frame and to remember that if we don’t frame who we are and what’s most important to us in life, somebody else will frame it for us. They might say, “No, no, you have to do this.” It’s like, “Why do I have to do that?” “Because I said so.” Well, you get to say so as a human.

I’m writing this little guide for people who are trying to get to 16 rounds and maintain them. I’m considering some of the main framing points that have to be in place in order to get to and then maintain chanting 16 rounds of japa. Here are the four main frames that I’m writing about:...
