Four-star 2023 safety and Ole Miss priority target Jamel Johnson de-committed from Texas on Monday.
Johnson — who’s ranked as the No. 294 player in the country, as well as the No. 28 safety — could be a pick-up opportunity for the Rebels, as Ole Miss Spirit recruiting analyst Zach Berry explains in this edition of Talk of Champions.
“He’s close with Braxton Myers, Ole Miss cornerback commitment from Coppell, Texas,” Berry said. “I think Ole Miss is poised to land him.
“Just de-committed on Monday, so he hasn’t set an announcement date or anything, but I think Ole Miss, right now, is the team to beat for him. The offer sheet is pretty loud. Ole Miss is in a good spot.”
Ole Miss is also bringing in its most star-studded group of visitors to date, including four-star running back Chris Johnson. The Ole Miss Spirit (On3) has the latest.
