Being religious is good enough, even being a Pharisee isn't sufficient, a person must be born again if they are going to enter the kingdom of God.

We are all just one sentence away from causing great harm - or great healing - with our words.

All that appears to be faith in John's Gospel is not necessarily genuine, saving faith. Jesus knows our hearts, and he knows whether or not our faith is shallow or saving. Jesus will only entrust himself to the one with true faith.

One of the things that separates Christians from non-Christians is that Christians repent of their sin. And true confession of sin is precise.

When enemies are attacking you with lies, slander and deceit you should emulate David and look to God in prayer, look to God for judgment, and look for God to bless you.

The future belongs to the disciplined. This is true for the arts and technology and education and athletics, but it also applies to our spiritual lives. Daily Bible reading should be a discipline that all Christians are committed to.

In addition to being gentle, patient, loving and gracious, Jesus is also holy, righteous and just. When God's house is turned into a house of trade we see the zeal of our Lord. A zeal that should be evident in our lives as well.

Throughout the OT God's people were anticipating the coming of the Messiah. God's answer to everything that is wrong with the world is found in the birth of Jesus. The child that was born and the son that was given brought light into darkness, and replaced contempt with glory.
