Can you see His miracles? On the surface, today’s gospel reading can be a bit upsetting. What does it mean when it says, “...he was not able to perform any mighty deed there...”? Is the gospel telling us that Jesus lost His ability to perform miracles? No— definitely not. Jesus was unable to get through to the hearts of those people. They had preconceived ideas of who they thought Jesus should be. They relied on impressions and memories formed at an earlier time and used them to put Jesus in a box. They expected Him to do certain things and act in a certain way. They refused to acknowledge the man Jesus had become or His mission. That is why Jesus could not to perform miracles there. It was not because Jesus had no ability; it was because of the peoples’ pride in their own opinions. They were blind to His message. How often do we behave like the people in Jesus’ hometown? When we pray, do we get so focused on what we want God to do that we are blinded to what He actually is doing? God knows what desires are in our heart. We must trust in Him. Our prayer to our Father says, “...thy will be done...” not MY will be done. Let God out of the box and let Him work in His way.

Being present to God helps us to know that God did not create death.  In fact he humbled himself, that we might be fulfilled. In his humility, his love is greater than all of us together.  It is then we too can be healed body and soul, when we are humbled in his presence.  

In today's reading we observe that even through trials, the closer we are to Jesus, the more peace we will have. As the Apostles are frightened during the storm, we see Jesus stays near them in their boat, remaining calm. The closer we are to Jesus, the more peace we will have when enduring all of life's troubles.

When we walk with God in faith, God knows every little detail as he does with every tree, every branch, every spot of shade, and every piece of fruit.  We must cooperate with Him!

Once we know who He is, and understand what He can do for us, who would leave Him?  He has changed lives and hearts for 2,000 years in His Eucharistic miracles and healings.  Listen in to two healings that have taken place for your reflection in His Presence.

Today, we celebrate the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a union and family of love that we are called to emulate; receive, share, give, and live that love respecting every person made in His image and likeness.  

Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit is personal equal importance to the Father and Son.  The Holy Spirit empowers us, unifies us, lives within us, and so much more....
