Cryptome Document / Leak Library Started In 1996. The work of John Young, Known as "Spiritual Godfather Of Leaks". Even at 89 years, John Young was ever much the transparency absolutist. In this, I mean to say, he himself states he did not believe in redaction, revealing information in its original form. After sadly hearing of his passing, I had to record this video about him, to help remember his legacy.
Without John Young, there may not have been a Wiki leaks.
He published many of the same documents as wiki leaks, and even put his own life on the line for Jullian Assange, asking for himself to be criminally charged as co-defendant in the indictment - a very brazen move. Speaks to his character.
Early on John Young was very active on the cypherpunks mailinglist.
Later on, after cryptome, he helped in founding wikileaks.
in his professional, John was an Architect. Making his mark in aesthetics there.
John Young is survived by his Partner Deborah Natsios. Our thoughts are with her and his family.
