The Reaction is the 12th book in the Animorphs series. It is narrated by Rachel. In The Reaction Rachel acquires an alligator morph. Er, crocodile morph. They are totally two different things. The Animorphs also have to deal with teen heartthrob Jeremy Jason McCole becoming a new spokesman for The Sharing. In this episode Phil and Francesca talk about the appeal of teen heartthrobs and navigating what may have been the grossest book to date.
The Forgotten is the 11th book in the Animorphs series. It is narrated by Jake.
In this episode, Phil and Francesca talk about horse girls they have known and loved. They actually talk about horses for a really long time.
Do you guys like the theme song? We might change it. Let us know.
Jake and Marco decide to sneak into a concert by morphing dogs. As dogs they realize that Marco's old friend Erek has no smell. Eventually the Animorphs figure out that Erek is an android, one of many known as the Chee. The Chee were created hundreds of thousands of years ago by a peaceful and highly advance race of dog-like aliens called the Pemalites. The Pemalites created dogs. Phil and Francesca are fans of dogs.
Just when you thought we had given up this project, Franimorphs is back with a vengeance. Join us as we get sort of weird and talk about our breathing problems, cute animal Instagram accounts to follow, and skunks for probably too long.
Spoiler: Opinions of this book were really divided. In fact, Francesca may actually hate Cassie despite being also being a nice black girl wearing overalls. Let the skunks die Cassie, it's the freaking circle of life.
The Alien is the first book narrated by Ax. In this book we learn more about Andalites than ever before. Shorm is an Andalite word that means "tail-blade." Andalites use the word shorm to mean best friend.
In this episode Francesca and Phil discuss vegan chicken salad, billionaire culture, the the Prime Directive, and why they haven't posted any bonus content.
In The Stranger the Animorphs encounter a mysterious, seemingly all powerful, God-like being called the Ellimist. In this episode Francesca and Phil try to figure out exactly what the heck is going on in this book. They also try to get Doug the dog and Bertie the cat to be friends.
This episode marks a first in Franimorphs history. In The Capture, the Animorphs discover that the Yeerks have infested an entire hospital staff and are using them to turn patients into Controllers. Not only that, but next week their state's governor – who is a Presidential candidate – will be checking in for surgery.
In this episode, we have a guest who did not read the book. Luckily, Bria is the nicest person in the world and we had a ton of fun talking with her. Plus she brought cookies. We really like treats okay?
Tune in to see how we manage this one.
What even is this podcast? Yes we are diehard, obsessive Animorph fans. We still plan to talk about all of the books and make our friends read them. However, the core of this podcast has always been two good friends talking about stuff they like. Every time we record an episode we have all of this bonus material. If you like our tangential, digressive moments - this episode is for you.
Hey morph-heads! Francesca and Phil are back with more Animorphs hijinx. In this episode we try to figure out exactly how hard it would be to build a communicator to broadcast a Yeerk distress signal out of parts from Radio Shack. We talk about improv games, Keanu Reeves, skateboarding, and how creepy Ax's human morph is.
Franimorphs was so excited to have our good friend Phil Iv join us. Phil is a standup comedian, improviser, actor, and activist. In this episode we talk about Werner Herzog, dolphins, and why Cassie should be in charge of the Animorphs. Are andalites a techno deterministic species? Why are the Animorphs so wedded to the idea of a gender binary? Join us as we explore these questions… and more.
