Frank & Friends Show episodes

  • 039 - Coca Nut
Krisha & Frank are off to a rough start because Frank is stressed about some things planned for later in the day. Doing the show relaxes Frank, similar to a time that Krisha & Frank did a two-person improv set and had to follow a performance artist who poured water over her head.
Krisha and her friend Jennifer want to excuse their kids from some chores so they can just be kids. Frank comments that our electronic devices eat up a lot of our time.
Krisha is very tired after starting rehearsals for the Christmas show at Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre. During the finale of Tuesday’s regular show, Krisha put on a different wig and was told she looks like Imogene Coca. Frank says that if Imogene was Sid Caesar’s sidekick, Sid could simultaneously be Imogene's sidekick. They discuss other famous comedy duos.
Today’s episode is sponsored by Steve’s Tree Service. They have 5 star ratings on Facebook, Google, Yelp, and neighborhood apps. Steve’s Tree Service serves Knox, Sevier, Blount, Anderson, Loudon, and Jefferson Counties. Call 865-257-6214.

  • 038 - Superhero Eulogy
Krisha & Frank went to the funeral for Bill Slayden, a founding member of Einstein Simplified. Krisha had planned on paying her respects at the visitation and leaving before the service. Frank and his wife planned on staying for the whole thing. There were seven comedy improvisers in attendance and they all sat together and joked about having enough people to put on a show. Their friend Dave said that Frank “has no chill.”
Krisha started getting emotional during the eulogies. Frank said he had a great time. Dave said the people behind the comedians moved to other seats. Frank points out that Dave’s time on the phone with Krisha & Frank is the most he has heard of the podcast.
Krisha felt sorry for Frank’s wife because she had to put up with the joking by all the improvisers who hadn’t seen each other since March. Krisha says their joke level was turned up to 11 and that they were using comedy to numb their emotions.
Krisha went home from the funeral, cooked comfort food, and binge-watched The Queen’s Gambit. Frank got an email from his mom’s church congratulating him on how well he organized her funeral. Krisha would be willing to work at a funeral home. Frank imagines a “Brook & Murphy” funeral business.

Frank is relieved that Krisha was only toying with him when he mentioned perimenopause at the end of yesterday’s episode. Krisha & Frank are making progress toward their goal of surpassing 1,000 YouTube subscribers. Please ask a friend to subscribe.
Tonya Cinnamon sent money via PayPal with a challenge for Krisha to drink buttermilk on the show. You can send money via PayPal to KrishaAndFrank @ gmail .com
Krisha’s granny and Frank’s grandma both drank buttermilk. Krisha’s granny grew up in a house with a party-line phone. The buttermilk Frank bought has locust bean gum and other additives in the ingredients. They agree it tastes bad and then dip cornbread in the buttermilk.
Krisha recalls doing radio interviews with country music artists. Frank points out some common traits of deejays interviewing celebrities. He and Krisha have similar methods of conducting interviews. She talks about the challenges of doing back-to-back interviews during a press junket. Some of the men are “grab-handy.” Frank tells about interviewing a famous rocker at the MTV Video Music Awards press junket.
Frank recalls going to see a comedy show by his friend Rodney Lee Conover and Ted Bigballs Ramsey. Krisha recalls being on nationwide conference calls with radio people with strange names.

  • 036 - The Banned Peri
Krisha asks about Frank’s back pain. His daughter suggested he try yoga. Neighbor Nancy pointed out that Frank’s property line is farther back than he thought it was.
Krisha is using Frank’s Dollywood coffee mug, which he received as a gift from Chef Pepin. Frank and Chef Pepin clicked when they were talking about the history of Bacardi Rum.
Krisha used to go Latin dancing in Orlando and sometimes goes dancing in Knoxville.
Frank admits to editing out an awkward part of their visit to a CBD cafe. Tonya Cinnamon has sent money via PayPal to buy buttermilk and cornbread for Krisha to eat on camera tomorrow. You can also send money via PayPal to KrishaAndFrank @ gmail .com
Frank was worried that Krisha didn’t like his coffee. He tells her about a Yuban commercial in which a woman thinks, “He never asks for a second cup at home.” Krisha says Frank does make strong coffee and that she likes it but that too much caffeine makes her uncomfortable.

  • 035 - Poplar Mechanics
Krisha & Frank are on the deck near the Podcast Porch to get a better view of the area where Steve’s Tree Service removed several problem pines and dead poplars. Frank is impressed that Krisha gets his “Down goes Frazier” reference.
Steve and his wife Renee regularly watch Krisha & Frank on YouTube and noticed a dead tree covered in vines, which they suggested removing. While they were working on some other trees, one of Frank’s elderly neighbors walked through the woods to get a better look.
Frank hurt his back trying to cut some weeds and move some brush while the tree crew had taken a load to the dump. Frank’s neighbors showed up to complain about the brush pile near the property line. Frank paid Steve and his crew to clear it out.

  • 034 - Dali Parkin’
Krisha has blue hair and is just back from a trip to the beach. Frank thought Krisha’s feet looked weird in a photo at the beach. She went to a Waffle House with a mermaid mural on the side wall.
Krisha was moved to tears at the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg. Street closures for a recent grand prix made it very difficult to drive to the museum.
Frank saw Dali on an old episode of What’s My Line online. Krisha asks about the version of Match Game that Frank wrote and hosted for a church fundraiser. Frank has some news about hiring Steve’s Tree Service to remove several problem trees on his property.
