2Co 6, 1-4a   Os exhortamos a que deis pruebas de no haber recibido en vano la gracia de Dios, pues dice él en la Escritura: «En el tiempo propicio te escuché, y te ayudé en el día de salvación.» Ahora es el tiempo propicio, ahora es el día de salvación. A nadie queremos dar nunca motivo de escándalo, a fin de no hacer caer en descrédito nuestro ministerio, antes al contrario, queremos acreditarnos siempre en todo como verdaderos servidores de Dios.

Isaiah 1:16-18   Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean. Take your wrong-doing out of my sight. Cease to do evil. Learn to do good, search for justice, help the oppressed, be just to the orphan, plead for the widow. Come now, let us talk this over, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

The truth of the Lord will stand firm forever.

Praise the Lord, all nations; all peoples, praise him.

For his mercy is strong over us and his faithfulness is forever.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son

O God, you are my God, I watch for you from the dawn.

My soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you.

I came to your sanctuary,

as one in a parched and waterless land,

so that I could see your might and your glory.

My lips will praise you, for your mercy is better than life itself.

Thus I will bless you throughout my life,

and raise my hands in prayer to your name;

my soul will be filled as if by rich food,

and my mouth will sing your praises and rejoice.

I will remember you as I lie in bed,

Isaiah 40

The Lord is coming in power: the prize of his victory is with him.

Behold, the Lord God comes in strength and his right arm triumphs.

Behold, his reward is with him, his prize is before him.

Like a shepherd he feeds his flock,

he gathers the lambs in his arms and lifts them to his breast;

he carries the pregnant ewes.

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand

and arranged the heavens with his palms?

Who has measured the dust of the earth,

weighed out the mountains,

weighed the hills on the balance?

Who directed the spirit of the Lord?

Who gave him advice on his task?

All the islands are a handful of dust.

What burnt-offering could be worthy of the Lord?

The forests of Lebanon could not feed that fire;

all the animals of Lebanon would not be enough for that sacrifice.

All the nations count for nothing before him:

for him, they are nothingness and emptiness.

Deuteronomy 7:6,8-9    It is you that the Lord our God has chosen to be his very own people out of all the peoples on the earth. It was for love of you and to keep the oath he swore to your fathers that the Lord brought you out with his mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know then that the Lord your God is God indeed, the faithful God who is true to his covenant and his graciousness for a thousand generations towards those who love him and keep his commandments.

Give joy to your servant, Lord, for to you I lift up my soul.

Turn your ear to me, Lord, and hear me,

for I am poor and destitute.

Keep my life safe, for I am faithful;

O God, save your servant, who trusts in you.

Take pity upon me, O Lord,

for I call to you all the day long.

Make your servant’s heart glad,

for to you, O Lord, I have raised it.

St 2, 14. 17. 18b   Hermanos, ¿qué provecho saca uno con decir: «Yo tengo fe», si no tiene obras? ¿Podrá acaso salvarlo la fe? La fe, si no va acompañada de las obras, está muerta en su soledad. Pruébame tu fe sin obras que yo por mis obras te probaré mi fe.

Tuesday Lauds Morning Prayer 3rd Week Lent Season

Joel 2:12-13    Come back to me with all your heart, fasting, weeping, mourning. Let your hearts be broken, not your garments torn, turn to the Lord your God again, for he is all tenderness and compassion, slow to anger, rich in graciousness, and ready to relent.

Lord, you blessed your land; you forgave the guilt of your people.

You looked kindly, O Lord, on your land:

you ended the captivity of Jacob.

You forgave your people’s unrighteousness

and covered over their sins.

You reined back all of your anger

and renounced your indignant fury.

Rescue us, God, our savior,

and turn your anger away from us.

Do not be angry forever

– or will you let your wrath last from one generation to the next?

Surely you will turn round and give us life

– so that your people can rejoice in you?

Show us, Lord, your kindness

and give us your salvation.

I will listen to whatever the Lord God tells me,

for he will speak peace to his people and his chosen ones,

and to those who repent in their hearts.

Truly his salvation is close to those who fear him,

so that glory may dwell in our land.

Kindness and faithfulness have met together,

justice and peace have kissed.

Faithfulness has sprung from the earth,

and justice has looked down from heaven.

Truly the Lord will give generously,

and our land will be fruitful.

Justice will walk before him

and place its footsteps on his path.
