1 Peter 1:22-23  You have been obedient to the truth and purified your souls until you can love like brothers, in sincerity; let your love for each other be real and from the heart – your new birth was not from any mortal seed but from the everlasting word of the living and eternal God.

Now have come the salvation and might and kingdom of our God, and the power of his Anointed, for the accuser of our brethren has been brought down, who accused them day and night in the sight of God.

Thursday, July 08 Morning Prayer Week 14 Ordinary Time

Romans 14:17-19  The kingdom of God does not mean eating or drinking this or that, it means righteousness and peace and joy brought by the Holy Spirit. If you serve Christ in this way you will please God and be respected by men. So let us adopt any custom that leads to peace and our mutual improvement.

Ring out your joy to God our strength.

Shout with joy to God our helper, rejoice in the God of Jacob. Take up the song, sound the timbrel, play on the lyre and the harp.

At the start of the month, sound the trumpet, at the full moon, at our festival.

Los indios lo querían como a su rey: Tupá, le llamaban postrándose ante él.

Recorrió las regiones de Rioja, Córdoba, Paraguay, Uruguay, Santiago del Estero y, según algunos, hasta el Gran Chaco. Consiguió muchas conversiones, y dejó testimonios claros de su santidad. Se le atribuían milagros, como el brotar de fuentes en Talavera y Nueva Rioja. Hasta los pájaros le seguían como amigos. Fue llamado el taumaturgo del Nuevo Mundo.

As a child she was holy, and when she was given in marriage to Dennis, King of Portugal, she became a saintly wife. She heard Mass and recited the Divine Office daily, but her devotions were arranged with such prudence that they interfered with none of her duties of state. She prepared for her frequent communions by works of charity, austerities, and fasts, and by her communions for these heroic works of charity. Elizabeth herself cared for the sick whom she visited, and never did a poor beggar leave her palace without having received what he needed.

En Beauvais fue azotado y arrojado a la prisión por orden del gobernador Valerio, pero la repentina muerte de éste le permitió obtener la libertad. De allí pasó a Amiens, donde convirtió a muchos al cristianismo, entre ellos al senador Faustiniano. Encarcelado por orden de los gobernadores Lóngulo y Sebastián, fue decapitado secretamente en la cárcel un 25 de septiembre.

Su cuerpo fue recuperado por Faustiniano y dignamente sepultado.

Porque en él quiso Dios que residiera toda la plenitud.

1 Peter 5:5-7  Wrap yourselves in humility to be servants of each other, because God refuses the proud and will always favour the humble. Bow down, then, before the power of God now, and he will raise you up on the appointed day; unload all your worries on to him, since he is looking after you.

For it was the Father’s will that the fullness of God should dwell in him, and that through him all things should be reconciled to himself.

A light has arisen for the just, and gladness for the upright in heart. Rejoice, you just, in the Lord and proclaim his holiness

Romanos 3,23-25

Todos pecaron y todos están privados de la gloria de Dios, y son justificados gratuitamente por su gracia, mediante la redención de Cristo Jesús, a quien Dios constituyó sacrificio de propiciación mediante la fe en su sangre. Así quería Dios demostrar que no fue injusto.

Romans 3:23-25   All have sinned and forfeited God’s glory, and all are justified through the free gift of his grace by being redeemed in Christ Jesus who was appointed by God to sacrifice his life so as to win reconciliation through faith.

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive glory and honor.
