  • Unquiet Mind

This one comes before 2020, it was just a one off experiment using Devious Machines Texture to randomly play grains of 20 to 2000 ms +/- 20% of a voice memo. YouTube kept blocking it for violations of community guidelines, but eventually brought it back upon appeal. I think it was possibly because the visualization looked like a coronavirus, as the automated transcript contains nothing objectionable. But who knows what automated agents think.

Since it’s already done, and up, I might as well push it to my podcast feed.

  • Rattlesnake

This was a speed run. Conceived, recorded, cleaned up, and videofied in less than 24 hours. Probably no more than 12 hours actual working time.

I don’t have a mic, so I recorded on my phone. Cleaning up that mess is hellish, or else I would’ve recorded the repeating phrases separately instead of cutting up the full audio. The next thing like this I do, I will, but it’ll take forever.

  • Prelude to Isolation

Before going into isolation, 3 weeks ago, a friend warned me to not act to rashly—to think about job, life, etc.

    This was my response.

Unsure if I would change it if I could.

  • Avulsion

    TITLE: Avulsion

DESCR: In sedimentary geology and fluvial geomorphology, avulsion is the rapid abandonment of a river channel and the formation of a new river channel.
In real property law, avulsion refers to a sudden loss of land, which results from the action of water. It differs from accretion, which describes a gradual addition to land resulting from the action of water. ~Wikipedia

  • Spooky Forest

Stumbled across a lost and forgotten audio project from five years ago. It was active between December 23 and 26 2014.

I can find little information about it, but there are no links to other projects. I’m unsure if I ever posted it, or if it was ever incorporated into another project, but it seems self-contained, and complete. I mighta well push it now. I slammed this video together from photos I had laying around.

I want to start the video over from the beginning. I learned a lot in making this one, it could be so much better. But I’m exhausted of it at this point, I’ll apply the lessons I’ve learned to upcomming projects.
