    Date: 7/24/2016
    Bible: 2 Kings 5:1-19
    Length: 58 min. (64kbps)

Overview: Leprosy is a picture of sin. Leprosy could not be cured by man. The same can be said of sin. Only God can cure from the pollution and power of sin. Naaman was a leper who came out of darkness to became a believer in the true God.----1. Naaman was an object of the God's sovereign love---1a- The sovereignty of God is seen in his position of power--- God's sovereignty was ruling in Naaman's life long before he came to Elisha--- God directed so Naaman became commander of the Syrian army.---1b- The sovereignty of God is seen in his perilous state--- Naaman was not a leper by accident--- Without his leprosy, he would have never met Elisha--- God uses extreme measures to humble us---1c- The sovereignty of God is seen in the people in his life--- he had a maid from Israel and a maid from the believing remnant--- In the fullness of time, God brought the right girl at the right time to save a pagan army soldier--- none of us deserve to know the sovereign love of God----2. Naaman was obedient to the commandment of God---2a- He had to receive the word of a servant--- Elisha did not speak to Naaman--- Instead God sent a servant of Elisha to speak to Naaman--- Part of God's humbling is that we accept the word of a humble messenger who brings the word of God---2b- He had to review his notion of God and religion--- Behold I thought...--- God's thoughts are not our thoughts--- He had his notions of religion--- He thought God had to work in a dramatic fashion---2c- He had to reject the pride of his national culture---2d- He had to realize he could not earn his salvation----3. • Glory in Christ's Ascension

    Title: Glory in Christ's Ascension
    Speaker: Dr. Stephen Pollock
Broadcaster: Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern
    Event: Sunday - AM
    Date: 7/24/2016
    Bible: Luke 24:13-53
    Length: 53 min. (64kbps)

Overview: This is the last physical sight of the Lord for the early church. There have been no appearances of the Lord since apart from that to the apostle Paul. The sight of Lord's departure is given as an encouragement. It was a sight given to encourage not only the early church, but the church down through the ages.----1. Christ ascends in power through suffering--- They saw his hands which are the marks of his passion--- But the intent is not to focus not on the suffering--- He was carried up into heaven--- Clouds are not mentioned here but are certainly implied--- The cloud in Old Testament scripture is a reference to a manifestation of the Lord's presence and his glory -Ex 20-34---- So this is an ascension in power, glory, and triumph--- He is not defeated but has triumphed over the enemies of sin, Satan, and death--- The last sight we have of our Savior is of triumph, not defeat--- And they returned to Jerusalem with great joy - is it any wonder-----2. He ascends to pray for the saints--- That is what he did prior to ascending--- And he lifted up his hands and blessed them -v 50---- And this is what he is doing now--- The one who ascends is not just a man, but the God-man--- His glorified humanity is not omni-present--- He is forever the suitable savior for sinners and he is that mediator forever--- He ascends as the God-man to pray--- He is touched with the feeling of our infirmities--- He ascends to pray for all the grace that we need--- His ascension and intercession is linked with our perseverance----3. He ascends to give power for service--- God sends his Sprit in His sovereignty to empower his people--- But he also sends his Spirit in answer to prayer

  • A Call To Holiness
A new MP3 sermon from Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern is now available on SermonAudio.com with the following details:

    Title: A Call To Holiness
    Speaker: Derrick Bowman
Broadcaster: Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern
    Event: Sunday - PM
    Date: 7/17/2016
    Bible: Romans 13:12-14
    Length: 34 min. (64kbps)

Overview: We live in a day of political, religious and cultural turmoil. Nothing is going to get fixed unless the Lord fixes it. The reason our nation is in turmoil is because they have made void thy law -Psalm 119-126-. We could look at -they- and how -they- have made void thy law. But Peter makes clear that judgment must begin at the house of God. People outside the church have made void God's law, but what about us- In Romans 13-12, Paul says let -us- cast of the works of darkness and let -us- put on the armor of light. If the Lord is going to do a work in the nation, He will ultimately need to do a work in us. So in this message, we want to look at the call to holiness made by the apostle Paul----Paul's Call To Holiness----1. He tells believers to cast off the works of darkness--- Paul is writing to believers when he tells them to cast off the works of darkness--- Paul is including himself in the call to let us cast off the works of darkness--- Paul goes onto list out this darkness----1- sins of excess --rioting and drunkenness-----2- sins of lust --chambering and wantonness-----3- sins of anger --strife and envying----- Paul sums it up by telling believers not to make provision for the flesh----2. He tells believers that we are to put on the armor of light--- This hearkens back to the armor of God is the book of Ephesians--- This is equivalent to putting on the Lord Jesus Christ'--- He is our wisdom and we are complete in Him--- The pursuit of holiness is not a trip we take by ourselves--- It is true that Paul ws the chiefest of sinners, but he was also a do as I do preacher

    Bible: Joel 2:32a; Acts 2:21

In the midst of this terrible destruction, God makes a promise- Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. But Joel is really speaking of both and Peter is interpreting what Joel wrote. In this message, we look at the deliverance that Joel and Peter are speaking of.----1. Deliverance is the need of all mankind.--2. Deliverance is received though prayer.--3. Deliverance is promised to all who call.--4. Deliverance brings great blessing.

    Title: The Great Awakening
    Speaker: Rev. Gordon Ferguson
Broadcaster: Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern
    Event: Sunday - PM
    Date: 7/10/2016
    Bible: Ephesians 2:1-5
    Length: 47 min. (64kbps)

Overview: This may not be the Great Awakening you are thinking about. And you hath he quickened who were dead in trespasses and sins. Quicken means to be brought to life. The Great Awakening in the 18th century swept multitudes into the kingdom of God. But of what good would it be to you or me if we were not included in that number- Paul says -And YOU hath he quickened-. The thing important to us is our awakening. Men and women dead, cut off from God, and such a work was done that they came to life and found peace with God and a place was found for them in heaven.----1. The condition of mankind before this work took place--- mankind is dead--- death is a horrible thing--- death is not something we rejoice over--- How can you be dead if you have desires---- death does not mean the cessation of existence--- in death, man is cut off from God--- death spells helplessness--- a dead body cannot help itself--- in our pride, we think we can help ourselves into heaven--- salvation is not of works lest any man should boast----2. How man conducts himself in this state of death--- he conforms to this world's beliefs and practices--- he is influenced by the devil--- he has the wrath of God upon him----3. The contrast with man--- But God...--- God stepped in--- every angel that sinned had no hope of salvation--- the same cannot be said for man dead in tresspasses and sins--- Christ came out of pure grace because he cared for men and women----4. The cause for the awakening--- It is the work of the Spirit--- the Spirit convicted us of sins--- the Spirit lifted up to our gaze the one who could save us from our sins--- the Spirit shed us the truth in the Scriptures--- it was truly a great awakeing
