Stevie Wonder was 23 the year he wrote the album Innervisions. The year was 1973 and the times were tumultuous. His song "Visions" from that album describes what some might call an overly optimistic view of a could-be world. In fact, many spiritual traditions are grounded in this same romantic vision: the children of Israel's "land of milk and honey" (featured in Stevie's "Visions"); the Book of Revelations "new world." It's something that we can all recognize and relate to as humans, this feeling that things can be better, and that hopefully, we are moving toward that vision.
