Sorry for the huge delay! I've been getting murdered at work, but weekly episodes return this week, and we've already got another one recorded and ready to go! I lost the audio for this episode for a while, which turned out to be because I recorded it on the studio PC at Ian's studio, hence there being no trace of it on my own studio pc. Oh well. I wasn't too upset, because the quality is... not great. They were using webcams. I tried.
Aria & Nikki discuss widespread addiction to smartphones, the anxiety they are causing, and the possibility of just leaving one's phone at home.
Aria and Nikki talk about the difficulties and futility of trying to protect your data online.
Aria DiMezzo and Mark Edge talk about the state of politics in New Hampshire, running for office, the various ways that one can have liberty, and the many projects going on around the world right now to help people achieve the liberty they seek.
Aria and Nikki sit down to talk about the death of Jaime Diaz at Aria's former prison (and Ian's current prison), the importance of ending the drug war, and the importance of providing people with a safe means to do things that you may not necessarily want them to do. Teaching people "stop, drop, and roll" doesn't encourage them to catch on fire, teaching people to use condoms doesn't encourage them to have sex, and providing people with fentanyl test strips isn't going to turn them into heroin users.
Aria sits down to reflect on her time in federal prison, now that she's looking at all the letters she wrote her best friend while there, and then gets into turning negative experiences into positive ones. You aren't a victim until you choose to be; being a victim is a choice. You have the power to be the beneficiary, if you so choose.
Bonnie and Aria sit down to discuss cognitive dissonance in libertarianism, the prison industrial complex, and the failures of group punishment to be moral and to achieve the presumed goals
In this week's episode of Free Talk Cast, Nikki and Aria sit down to talk about Biden stepping down, and then immediately choose to talk about something much more interesting: scientists want to dump a bunch of lye into Cape Cod to help the ocean turn carbon dioxide into oxygen. Seems like an awful lot of work to avoid planting some fucking trees.
This week, Aria and Bonnie sit down to discuss some of the latest developments in the way that the state is clearly fucking with Aria, making it exceedingly difficult for her to change her name on her ID and get a New Hampshire license. This time, someone decided to inexplicably alter her name change certificate to say that Aria was born in Michigan instead of Mississippi, and there seems to be no plausible explanation for this change except that someone is trying to fuck with her. Plus, the Donald Trump assassination attempt, a little about Kamala Harris, and the importance of choosing love and forgiveness over hatred.
Aria & Nikki sit down to discuss the newest and awesomest changes to freetalklive.com, as well as the importance of not being a dick to people. This leads into the discussion about Donald Trump and the hatred rampant in the United States today, and finally settles on the subject of trans kids and bad parents.
