Have you ever felt like you're constantly doing all the right things—but deep down, you still wonder if you really belong? You show up, serve, check all the boxes... but there's still this quiet ache that whispers, “It’s not enough.” That, my friend, is what I call the orphan mindset—and it's something many of us carry without realizing it.
This is often why it’s so hard to receive love, even from God, and grasp what it really means to live like a daughter—not an outsider trying to earn her place.
Let's shift from striving to resting in your identity. Because living like you belong isn’t about what you do—it’s about knowing whose you are.

God's told you to give up something but you're not doing it... ya, I've been there to. Even today. What is it about giving up certain types of foods that make it so difficult? Maybe it's the chemicals, but maybe it's also that we have become so used to running to them for comfort. Can I tell you friend, it's a counterfeit comfort because it never actually fills the God shaped hole in our soul that ONLY He can. It always leaves us wanting and back for more.
This is day 13 of the 40 day Bible Study "Freedom From Emotional Eating" and we are discussing idols. Running from God to food to numb out, ignore or cover our pain and emotions can cause us a lot of trouble and consequences. Being unhealthy is just one of them.
When we learn to run TO God and not AWAY from Him when we face challenges changes everything! Subscribe, give us a thumbs up and share with a friend.
