Have you ever believed God was leading you toward something... and still felt completely afraid?
Your spirit may feel peaceful while your mind is racing, your stomach is churning, and your thoughts are busy imagining everything that could go wrong.
And then another fear appears:
If I really trusted God, why would I feel this afraid?
That's the question we're exploring in this episode.
Because feeling fear doesn't necessarily mean you lack faith. It doesn't necessarily mean you've misunderstood God. And it doesn't necessarily mean you're headed in the wrong direction.
Sometimes it simply means you're human and you're stepping into something uncertain, vulnerable, unfamiliar, or important.
One distinction I've been carrying with me is this:
Fear can provide information without being given authority.
Or another way:
Fear is information. It doesn't always have to become instruction.
Together we'll explore fear, faith, courage, discernment, the difference between discomfort and danger, and why the decision that brings the quickest relief isn't always the decision that leads toward freedom.
I'll also share a recent experience where I became convinced I knew what other people were thinking, only to discover that I wasn't actually "reading the room."
Fear was reading it for me.
And we'll finish with a practical exercise you can use with one fear you're facing right now.
Questions to Explore
What am I afraid will happen?
What is this fear trying to protect me from?
Is there genuine danger here, or am I facing uncertainty, vulnerability, discomfort, or possible disappointment?
What do I actually know?
What has fear filled in for me?
What is God saying about this?
What would one courageous next step look like?
