Perry and Shawna welcome Dr. Neil Martin and Pastor Andy Young, two Brits who are living in and sharing the gospel in the post-modern, atheistic capitol of the world, Oxford, England. Neil works in campus ministry at the University of Oxford and Andy has planted a church in the heart of that city. First Neil shares his story of coming to faith, wrestling with doubt, and being sick for 10 years! He longed to serve Christ in ministry and God healed him and moved him to West Michigan to prepare him for the great work of bringing the gospel to the University of Oxford. Then Neil shares about his years of struggling with doubt after becoming a believer and that it’s good to struggle with doubt, it strengthens our faith. Then Neil shares about his gospel work at the University of Oxford. Then Perry is curious: “Please explain British humor to me.” It’s a fun moment! Andy then shares about his church planting work to bring Jesus to the empty atheism of Oxford. Then Neil shares how to share the gospel in our own post-Christian culture—by listening and loving and sharing the hope we have found in Christ for our own brokenness. And finally Neil and Andy team up to share how the gospel has to first be bad news before it can be good news. But once we swallow that, the good news is SO good.
