  • FHR #004 - Freedom Principle 3 of 5: Relationships
    IN THIS EPISODE BRYCE COVERS:
Why relationships are important in life and work
Before you start to work on relationships with others you’ve got to look inside yourself
The difference between introverts and extroverts
The best books to help you work on your personal and work relationships
    EPISODE DETAILS:
This episode covers relationships with humans, your relationship with spirituality will be covered in a later episode.
This episode also covers more than just romantic and personal relationships.
Relationships and understanding them is important because relationships are everywhere, for example when doing real estate there are so many relationships with all the different people in the process - pre sale and post sale.
We need to work on relationships if you want to be in the world as they’re a very important part of life.
We’re all born instinctively to need relationships although they can be very easy to take for granted, especially the one with our spouse.
Bryce and his wife went to a relationship retreat and he was surprised to find that they spent 80% time working on the relationship with themselves.
He learned that childhood will shape your relationships of the future - everyone has childhood experiences which shape our journey.
The things we project onto other people are usually things we don’t like about ourselves.
Self analysis is important and the relationship that needs the most work is the one with ourselves.
We need to work through our own stuff and dig deep, so that we can provide value to others.
Don’t compete against others, only compete against yourself.
Introverts and extroverts; Extroverts get their energy from working and interacting with other people, whereas introverts recharge from being alone.
You can’t fix people the same way you’d want to be fixed; you’ve got to treat them how they work rather than how you work.
This is explained perfectly in the book ‘Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus’, that everyone has either masculine and feminine energy which creates different needs to be met.
The second recommended book is ‘His needs, her needs’ which is a bit on the darker side and bit of a reality check talking about the worst cases that could happen.
The third recommended book is ‘The 5 Love Languages’ which is the key to finding out what people want.

  • FHR #003 - Freedom Principle 2 of 5: Mental, Physical & Dietary Health
    IN THIS EPISODE BRYCE COVERS:
Keeping a healthy mindset by practicing gratitude everyday
How to create goals for life that cover more areas than just financial success
Turning those goals into reality using visualization
Working on keeping your body healthy using different techniques including exercise and breathing
Advise on the best foods to eat and what to avoid to maintain the frequency of your body
    EPISODE DETAILS:
20% of success is skills / 80% is mindset and the best place to start improving your mindset is with gratitude.
When you start to be thankful then good things will come into your life. Bryce recommends that everyone try gratitude visualizations.
We’ve all been programmed by media, family and friends to believe certain things so that by time we get to our 20’s we’re programmed completely. The best way to start reprogramming your mindset for success is to work on goals.
When Bryce was younger all his goals were financial but now he’s learnt there are so many other areas in life that need looking after too.
Bryce uses his goals template to cover all areas of life and attributed this template to much success in his life.
Once you have your goals, how do you make them come into action? That takes visualization.
Our mind does not know the difference between visualizing something and spending time practicing the skills, once you can visualize yourself succeeding then you’ll find it showing up in real life.
You also need to surround yourself with the things to help you to get your goal; people, video, books, and don’t stay around people who wear you down.
A good morning routine will help you go through the goals and visualizing - programming yourself for success and freedom.
Get outside of your comfort zone to a place that gives you butterflies and makes you nervous; this helps the mindset and gives you little wins throughout the day.
Exercise is so important in life, the more energy you exert the more energy you will gain in return..
Get started with cardio and strength training but you don’t need to go to the gym - you can use your own body weight.
Another really important exercise is a yoga practice and breathing exercises.
Wim Hof using breathing exercises to control how his body reacts to extreme cold. Bryce also takes ice baths / cold plunging which contracts blood vessels to strengthen your immune system and enhance your overall health.
Bryce also recommends being aware of the toxicity in your home - stay natural wherever possible
For a healthy body lean towards eating organic food where possible and drink lots of water.

  • FHR #002 - Freedom Principle 1 of 5: Financial Wealth
    IN THIS EPISODE BRYCE COVERS:
Why it’s important to work on building wealth for you and your loved ones.
Different methods of making money in the US.
Key niches to investigate in business ownership and real estate.
Things to be aware of when searching for a financial advisor.
    EPISODE DETAILS:
Disclaimer - Bryce is not a lawyer or a financial advisor. The following episode is not advice, it’s for educational purposes only.
Wealth is 1 of 5 core principles, if you grow financial wealth then this will also help in the other core areas.
Which of these 5 principles is the most important to you is up to you and will probably change through life.
    Myths to bust;
You need to have money to make money
You need experience to make money
You need good credit to make money
When Bryce started he had no assets and negative net worth + unseasoned credit + no experience in real estate but he bought a mobile home park with these circumstances.
Some might argue that building wealth is against theology but Bryce argues that the love of money is the root of all evil; it’s all about the person who has the money as it will amplify who you are.
Your priorities are wrong if money is the be all and end all; it shouldn't be everything.
On the path to financial freedom the end result isn’t the goal, it’s about the person you become during that self development.
By building wealth you’re also able to spend more time with family and people you care about
The goal is to work towards financial freedom by getting passive investments to pay for your living expenses.
Once financially free you can leave your day job but many people want to keep working for enjoyment.
    There are three main ways to make money;
    Stock market and/or crypto currency
Business ownership. The key here is to stick to the business plan and put in productive effort for at least 12 months and test your market first.
Real estate. The key here is to find your niche, for example there’s a massive need for affordable housing in the US, especially mobile home parks.
Senior living is also a big niche in the US as it’s growing with baby boomers over the next 10 years. Also millennial housing is another niche worth looking into.
Bryce recommends the series on Youtube - Secrets of Money by Mike Maloney
Mike Maloney is a gold and silver investor who covers a 10 episode series taking you through complex topics and making them interesting.

  • FHR #001 - From Negative Net Worth to Financial Freedom in 2.5 Years with Host Bryce Robertson
    IN THIS EPISODE BRYCE EXPLAINS:
Who he is and how his background and journey has brought him to this point.
How he discovered the balance between working and living.
What is the Freedom Lifestyle and how can you achieve it.
An insight into Freedom Hack Radio and what’s going to be covered in the coming episodes.
    EPISODE DETAILS:
Bryce grew up in Brisbane, Australia, had a fun childhood, was great at school, then realized at age 16 he wasn’t motivated or inspired by school anymore.
    At this point he had three options for his future;
    1) Continue with school and then university and graduate to be a professional
    2) Go and get a blue collar job and make as much money as he can with his hands
    3) Same as above but owning a business rather than working for someone else
He chose the second option, left school at 16 and chose to work where he could make the most money in welding and steel fabrication.
Bryce worked really hard through his apprenticeship and went on to spend 2 years in the Australian underground gold mines where he saved up money to travel the world.
Having his first international base camp in the UK, Bryce worked and traveled in the UK, Europe and Africa for 3 years.
Bryce then moved to Canada and lived in a ski village for 2 years enjoying the abundant outdoor adventures, while working in local coal mines and as a firefighter.
Bryce saved enough cash to venture on an 18 month, surfing and scuba diving adventure in Central and South America. In the last 6 months of that trip he met his future wife on a scuba diving island, off the coast of Honduras.
Bryce and his wife moved to the US but he struggled to make a living that he enjoyed because he only knew the blue collar lifestyle in welding and construction.
One day he came home and said ‘I can’t do it anymore’ and with the support of his wife she helped him realize he could choose any career path he desired.
They explored different strategies like; business ownership, real estate, MLM’s, stock market, but they ended up spinning plates and having mediocre success.
Bryce realized that for true success he needed to laser focus on one thing.
They spent $30,000 on a real estate investment course and supposed “hot-shot” mentor. Bryce found a mobile home park that he wanted to put under contract but his mentor was un-supportive and said to him ‘your dreaming kiddo, you’ll never get that deal done!’.
Fueled to prove he could get this deal done, Bryce reached out to other investors who guided him how to put the deal together and make it work, and this was the start of his life changing mobile home park investing career.
2.5 years later Bryce and his wife became financially free.
A true Freedom Lifestyle can be found by finding harmony in 5 main areas - financial, health, relationships, spirituality and having fun doing what we love most. Growing in and finding the balance between these aspects is the key to a truly free and fulfilling life.
