  • 2607 When You Make Them Laugh, You Make Them Listen: Comedy, Culture, and Reframing Confidence with Lynn Harris
Can comedy actually change the world? In this episode, host Kimberly Henrie sits down with culture-shifting producer, award-winning journalist, and author Lynn Harris. As the founder and CEO of Gold Comedy, Lynn is on a mission to completely change who gets to talk and—more importantly—who gets listened to.

From her early days navigating the "daily paper cuts" of sexism in the New York comedy scene to co-creating Break-Up Girl (one of the internet’s very first multi-platform success stories), Lynn shares how humor can be the ultimate Trojan horse for social justice and cultural change
    .
Whether you consider yourself "funny" or not, Lynn breaks down how to tap into your natural sense of humor, read a room, and confidently take up space in your everyday life
    .
    Key Takeaways:
    • The Cultural Force of Comedy: Comedy isn't just entertainment; it defines what is acceptable in society. When we change who has the microphone, we change the culture.
    • A Sense of Humor vs. Mastery: You don't need to be the loudest cutup at the party or google jokes beforehand. Cultivating a "sense" of humor is simply about being open, noticing the moments, and practicing the art of "Yes, and...".
    • Why Jokes Fall Flat: It’s rarely because you aren't funny. It's usually a precise mechanical issue—like missing exposition, overlapping timing, or a simple room misread. Give yourself some grace!
Lynn Harris is a culture-shifting producer, award-winning journalist, and author/co-author of six books. Her comedy and campaigns for social justice and gender equity have changed laws and conversations from Capitol Hill to NASCAR. She is founder and CEO of GOLD Comedy—the comedy school, professional network, and content studio where women and non-binary creators grow their comedy careers, build powerful communities, and make funny stuff. Harris co-created Breakup Girl (acquired by Oxygen), one of the first multiplatform internet success stories, and co-hosted, with Ginna Green, The Forward’s A Bintel Brief: The Podcast. Lynn served as the first VP of communications at global human rights group Breakthrough, where her blend of humor and advocacy powered some of the team’s most effective U.S. campaigns. She has also worked as a Tonya Harding lookalike, which is a long story.

  • 2606 Holistic Health, Resilience, and "The Good Life w/Patti Scallan
Episode Overview: In this episode, we sit down with Patti Scallan, an alternative healthcare professional with 20 years of experience who owned a holistic wellness center for a decade. Patti shares her passion for helping people achieve true abundance in joy, health, and wealth by giving the body exactly what it needs to heal itself. We explore actionable ways to start living "The Good Life" by making small, manageable shifts in our daily habits.

    Key Takeaways:
    • The "One Car" Analogy: Patti challenges us to take personal responsibility for our health, pointing out that if you only had one car for your entire life, you would take excellent care of it—yet this is the only body we will ever get. If we don't invest proactively in our well-being now, the alternative is paying for "sick care" later.
    • The 5 Pillars of Health: We break down Patti's foundational health pillars: nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, and hydration. She emphasizes the importance of starting small, such as taking a five-minute walk instead of committing to an overwhelming new regimen that you'll drop in a month.
    • Rethinking the 3 PM Slump: Did you know your brain is 70% water? Patti explains why that afternoon energy crash usually means you are dehydrated and need a glass of water, not another cup of coffee.
    • The Ultimate Health Habit (Sleep): Despite all the complex health fads, Patti reveals that 7 to 8 hours of quality sleep is the most critical priority, as it gives the body the necessary downtime to shut down, rejuvenate, and heal itself.
    • Trusting Your Gut: We discuss the difference between a simple Google search and actual research, and why Patti advises making important life decisions from your "gut" (your higher self) rather than just making them from your head or heart.
    • Finding Joy on the Other Side of Fear: Patti shares how a simple question—"what can I be grateful for right now?"—can instantly shift a bad day, helping to build resilience and dispel fear.

  • 2602 RV Life, Real Growth & Redefining Freedom with Sarah Jones
Episode: LTGL2602 – Sarah Jones | RV Life, Real Growth & Redefining Freedom

What happens when you make a five-minute decision that completely changes your life?

In this episode, Kimberly sits down with fellow full-time RVer and multi-passionate entrepreneur Sarah Jones to talk about what it really looks like to build a life—and a business—on the road. No perfect plan. No polished blueprint. Just a willingness to say yes… and figure it out along the way. From an unexpected start (think: “we need a place to live” energy) to four and a half years of full-time travel, Sarah shares how this lifestyle has shaped not just her work, but who she’s becoming. This conversation goes beyond RV logistics and into something deeper—freedom, fear, nervous system health, and what it means to truly feel at peace in your own life.

    In this episode, you’ll hear:
    • How a spontaneous decision turned into a full-time RV lifestyle
    • The difference between having a “dream” and allowing life to unfold
    • What it’s really like to run a business on the road (the good, the messy, and the honest)
    • The challenge of building community without a physical “home base”
    • Why routines may fail you—and habits might save you
    • A powerful personal realization about stress, cortisol, and nervous system health
    • Simple shifts that made a big difference in sleep, clarity, and overall well-being
    • The surprising truth about “balance” on the road
    • Real talk about RV ownership (including the maintenance most people ignore)
The RV Evolution (because yes…they have names) Sarah shares her journey from a small, older fifth wheel to a full-scale HDT (Heavy Duty Truck) setup:
    • Started with a modest fifth wheel out of necessity
    • Upgraded to a 41-foot home-on-wheels
    • Now travels in a full semi setup (yes, really)
    And meet the crew:
    • Cash – the semi truck
    • Carmen – the fifth wheel
    • Vicky – the motorcycle
    • Benny – the car
A deeper thread: From “doing all the right things” to actually feeling better One of the most powerful parts of this conversation is Sarah’s realization that even when she was:
    • Eating well
    • Exercising consistently
    • Doing everything “right”
    …something still felt off.

That led her to explore nervous system regulation, stress, and the impact of living in a constant low-level fight-or-flight state—and how small, consistent habits (not just routines) can begin to shift that.

Practical wisdom for RV life If you’re even thinking about RVing, don’t miss this: You are not doing enough maintenance. It’s not glamorous, but it’s essential. Sarah shares why small, daily awareness can save you from major headaches (and expenses) down the road.

Sarah’s advice for aspiring RVers: You don’t need to have it all figured out. If you feel the pull to travel—even just for a few weeks or months—find a way to try it. The experience alone can change how you see your life, your priorities, and what’s actually possible.

  • 2601 RV Life, Letting Go, and Building a Business from Anywhere with Patrick Smith
Patrick Smith on RV Life, Letting Go, and Building a Business from Anywhere

In this episode of Living the Good Life, I’m sitting down with my friend Patrick Smith—who’s currently parked near Mount Hood, living and working full-time from the road. And this isn’t the “race around the country and check the boxes” version of travel. Patrick has chosen a different pace. Slower. More intentional. The kind where you actually experience where you are—and leave room for life to surprise you. We talk about some of those unexpected moments…
like a simple campground change in Florida that turned into snorkeling alongside a manatee and her calf. Or the hidden natural spots near San Diego that most people drive right past. And yes—there’s a raccoon-on-a-leash story from Louisiana that you just can’t make up. But this conversation goes deeper than travel. Patrick shares how he started in real estate back in 1988, and how a serious car accident in 2013 shifted everything—eventually leading him into online business, systems, and building something he could run from anywhere. We also get into the reality of RV life:
learning as you go, fixing things the hard way, downsizing (more than once), and figuring out what actually matters. And of course, we talk business—because freedom still needs funding. Patrick now helps businesses get found online, streamline their operations, and use tools like AI in a way that supports the work… without replacing the human connection. Because at the end of the day, some things haven’t changed. Helping people matters.
    Relationships matter.

And sometimes your “one job” is simply to make someone smile. ✨

In this episode, we talk about:
    • What “slow travel” really looks like in real life
    • Why he chose RV life instead of flying to destinations
    • The unexpected moments that come from leaving room in your plans
    • Downsizing and what you learn when you let go of “stuff”
    • Funding life on the road
    • Building a mobile-friendly business
    • Using AI as a tool (not a replacement)
    • Why sales is really just helping people
    • The value of old-school relationship building
This one isn’t just about RV life. It’s about paying attention.
Letting go of what doesn’t matter.
And building a life—and a business—that actually fits who you are.
