immigrant access to welfare benefits (like Universal Credit, housing help, Child Benefit) in the UK depends heavily on their immigration status, especially the "No Recourse to Public Funds" (NRPF) rule, which bars many from benefits unless exceptions apply, like refugees or those with Indefinite Leave to Remain, who often get full access, while asylum seekers receive limited support (housing, cash on a card) while waiting for decisions. Key factors are residency, the specific benefit, and whether your visa allows access to public funds.

Army's IRA spy Freddie Scappaticci admitted killing suspected informer - BBC News

OMBUDSMAN FINDS NO COLLUSION IN IRA SCAP MURDER OF BELFAST DOCKER | Belfast Daily

Arthur Rafferty's death in 1974 was a tragic event in Belfast's history. He was shot by the IRA on August 15, 1974, and later died from his injuries. The police investigation into his murder found no evidence of police collusion, but there were several failings in the RUC's handling of the case. The Police Ombudsman's Office found no evidence that police colluded to protect IRA members responsible for his murder. However, the investigation revealed that there were failures in the police's handling of the crime scene and the destruction of evidence. Despite these failings, the Ombudsman stated that investigative failures are not automatic evidence of collusion.
