One of the smartest people I've ever met, Liz Findlay received a Master's degree and was 4 years into a PhD program when she decided to start Albion Fit with her husband, Dave in order to try and save her family's factory in Guatemala. What started as a rescue attempt turned into one of the fastest-growing companies in Utah. They have 4 brick and mortar stores in 3 states, and have expanded from just women's clothing to include both men's and children's clothing as well.

Rachel Nilsson is the perfect example of starting from nothing and finding success. From buying supplies for her initial run at Home Depot to using her husband's old shirt for the first iterations of her product, she created the perfect romper for children, without any snaps, called the Rag, which is why her company is now called Rags.
Immediately after launching Rags, Rachel found success. Less than a year after starting to sell she had already generated $750,000 in revenue. This led to an appearance on the popular TV show, Shark Tank, where the sharks were impressed by her humble beginnings and success. Yet with this success, she also went through periods of isolation and failures, which is what she shares with us today.

Thread makes the coolest elastic wallets in the market, complete with special designs to make them your own. Years ago when they were first starting out I actually was one of their original Kickstarter backers. What you might not have known is that it was originally just supposed to fund a sock company, their initial idea. Now, Thread is a 7-figure company that has landed on a multitude of top business lists, including being one of the 100 fastest growing companies in the state of Utah. Colby Bauer and his wife are the ones behind this unique take on wallets, and they run this business while raising their children as well.
Though Thread has seen plenty of success since the start, Colby has had his fair share of failures previously. He lost $20,000 on a software project gone wrong, and even his first initial Thread Kickstarter project only earned $2,000 of outside money. Yet from his failures he was able to unlock some of the keys to success and how to maintain a strong mind in the face of outside challenges.

For our listeners out there with good taste in shoes or style, you may have heard of the shoe and boot company, Taft. Easily one of my favorite companies and brands, I was ecstatic to find out that they were based in my backyard here in Utah. Kory Stevens is the founder of Taft, along with his wife. Besides being the CEO of a multi-million dollar company, he was also named the EY Entrepreneur of the Year, has been on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and Taft was recently ranked the 56th fastest growing company in the country by Inc Magazine. But most importantly to him, he is a devoted husband and father.
While he has been able to find much success in business, Kory has also found himself in the depths of depression and lifelong struggles with mental health. What is most inspiring about him is that instead of struggling in silence, like many of us do, he instead chooses to be vulnerable and share his struggles in hopes that he can help people understand that mental health struggles have many different faces, and that anybody can find themselves struggling with it at some point in their lives.
