Freelance Radio Producer, Presenter and Actor David Brain talks about his varied career, the importance of networking and keeping an open mind.  I caught up with David at our former University, Leeds Trinity where David was due to give a talk to current students.

After we finished recording the first episode of the podcast, Chris mentioned that he had a long list of people who would make great guests. Not only that, he had been exploring the idea of podcasting as part of his Human Freelancer project. Never one to miss an opportunity for some outsourcing I told Chris I’d love to feature any of the guests he had in mind. Jamie Sia was enjoying a successful career in IT when redundancy led him to think again about his work. With just 6 months to make it work, he set out on a journey to build his photography business balancing his ambitions with the needs of his young family. In 2017, with a growing business and two young children, he realised that he needed to move the business out of the home. Unable to find a suitable space he joined forces with fellow photographer Tim Dunk to set up The Light Space Collective: Leeds.
