We last saw Habakkuk complaining to God, because he believed that God was not acting or doing anything about the sin that burdened him and the other righteous remnant in Judah. God responded to Habakkuk's complaint and told him that even that he, the sovereign God, was at work in the world to purge the sin from among his people. Christians today can also trust the sovereign work of God.

Surrounded by wickedness, Habakkuk shares with the few righteous people left in Judah his burden about the effects with sin. The people of God, Christians, still find themselves burdened by the effects of sin. What comfort can we cling to when we are burdened by the effects of sin--
