We've missed a week, but don't fret! We're back with double the film content and plenty of boozy goodness to whet our whistles.

We kick off the show with a "Mega IPA" from Dust Bowl Brewing out of Turlock, CA called "Supine." Clocking in at 14.4%, Supine is about as hearty as IPAs come. Can it's robust 4-hop flavor profile withstand it's aggressive ABV? Afterwards, we jump headfirst into the true-story drama called "Just Mercy." It stars Michael B Jordan as attorney Bryan Stevenson in his journey to acquit wrongfully accused Walter McMillian in an Alabama murder case.

We then dive into a tasty little rye ale made by Cold Water Brewery in South Lake Tahoe called "Mr. Toad's Wild Rye," after which we discuss the feature-length directorial debut of Mati Diop with "Atlantics."

This week on the podcast we dissect the 2020 Academy Award nominations. We also revisit WWI with "1917," a film directed by Sam Mendes starring George MacKay and Dean Charles Chapman. An audacious undertaking headed by cinematographer Roger Deakins, "1917" tells the story of two soldiers delivering an incredibly important message- all in seemingly, one continuous shot. The first beer on the show is a self-proclaimed porter called "Café Olé" from Spanish brewery Ceveses Spigha. The second, a double IPA from Stone called "Fear. Movie. Lions."

Beery Christmas to all and to all a beer night! This Christmas we're very excited to bring you reviews of beers from around the world. The first, from our very own corner is called "12 Haze of Christmas." It's New England-inspired IPA from Crooked Lane Brewing out of Auburn, CA. The second is an imperial stout from Oslo, Norway and a brewery called Cervisiam. The beer itself? "Chocolate Salty Christmas Balls." Does it make you think of Santa's musk after a night of delivering presents? Cause that's what we thought of.

Max and Jonny sit down to discuss "Marriage Story" starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver as a married couple attempting to navigate a contentious divorce from two sides of the country while raising their son. They also discuss the much-anticipated "Honey Boy." It's a semi-biopic written by and about Shia LaBeouf chronicling his upbringing and troubled relationship with his father.

The first beer of the show is a tasty peanut butter and chocolate porter from DuClaw Brewing called "Sweet Baby Jesus." Winner of 2014's Bronze Medal at the GABF, does this beer have a chance, nay a prayer at living up to it's hype? The second beer is a mosaic-forward IPA born of a collaboration between The Hop Concept and Societe Brewing- both based in Southern California. "Mosaic Monday" was released for 2019's San Diego Beer Week and received two 10's from both ya boys on the show!

As Oscar season draws ever-nearer, we find ourselves, once again doubling up on films.
