Multi-instrumentalist Sid Vashi got Fresh Out The Box right on the cusp of the New Delhi leg of his Azuma Kazuma album launch tour. In conversation with DJ MoCity, Vashi played out the songs on his latest release, and shed light, among other things, on his days in Detroit playing jazz, the experiences that shaped his first album Motherland Tourism, leading into the nitty-gritties of Azuma Kazuma and also the sampling ideologies that seemingly extend to his unique visual aesthetic.

Fresh from Skyharbor’s tour of Europe supporting the mighty Deftones, drummer Aditya Ashok aka OX7GEN recently dropped by the boxout fm HQ to discuss, among other things, his involvement in Dasta, his upcoming purely drum ‘n’ bass EP and an all-new live set that’s in its formative stages. OX7GEN also played out a bunch of tracks from artists he’s currently digging from both the home-grown and international scenes.

On June 7th, we had the mighty Apache Indian in the studio for a chat with the Reggae Rajahs.  They spoke about his new album In Ja which traces the Don Rajah’s reggae roots and also marks 25 years since he got signed to the legendary Island Records. The playlist includes selections from his new album, plus some classic hits and a few exclusive remixes to tie things up nice and irie.

During a February 2017 visit to India, Jesse aka Tittsworth introduced us to a little-known micro-genre of funk music called Go-go. In conversation with DJ MoCity, Tittsworth charted the roots and evolution of Go-go music in the Washington metropolitan area, and over the course of this two-hour episode, walks us through a selection of essential tracks that have come to shape Go-go today. Jesse closed off with an hour-long mix of his upcoming album Reagan Bombs that’s centered around his lifelong love of Go-go music.
