The Air Jordan 6 could arguably be the most important sneaker in Michael Jordan’s basketball career. We’re talking about the sneaker he wore when he finally got over the hump in the NBA Playoffs in 1991 and won his first championship with the Chicago Bulls, after falling short the six years prior. Michael Jordan wore the shoe during the 1991-1992 NBA season, his first championship year, when he averaged 31.5 points per game and won the scoring title.
The Air Jordan 6 was first released in 1991 and had a total of five original colorways, including both black and white “Infrared” makeups, “Carmine,” “Maroon,” and the oft-forgotten “Sport Blue.” Following its original run, the sneaker was retroed in 2000, which featured a mixture of OG and new styles.

By 1990, Michael Jordan was recognized as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, and Jordan sneakers were considered a must-have by basketball players, sports fans and fly dressers alike. Like most of the classic Jordan silhouettes Tinker Hatfield was the man behind the design of the Air Jordan 5. The innovator took inspiration from the fierceness of Jordan’s sharp playing style and WWII American Mustang fighter jets to form an Air-soled.

Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 4 first released in 1989 for Michael Jordan's fourth NBA season with the Chicago Bulls. Seamlessly blending performance and style, Hatfield added elements like the "Wings" on the sides, enabling users to adjust the shoe's fit to their preference. While the Jordan 4 (IV) was created as a basketball sneaker, it would go on to transcend the court and become a staple in fashion and culture. With countless collabs and retros of the OG colorways, the Air Jordan 4 is one of the hottest sneakers available right now.
