Fret Talk

BudgetPedalChap and Uli Pedabadadoo are joined by our very special guest and returning co-host, Mr Sean Pierce Johnson!!! We surf the waves of guitar news this week, mentioning our collectively busy schedules which include a butt-load of upcoming pedal reviews and a review of a guitar that may or may not contain a bottle opener, which is a bloody fantastic feature if you ask me. We get an in-depth with the new Boss 200 series pedals and draw some parallels with a previous range from the Boss line-up. This week, a rather impressive chap has decided to sell an even impressiver collection of the most impressivest guitars ever sold, including some rather old and sought-after Fender numbers. Yes, I’m talking about Dave Gilmour, who donated the impressive 21mil to a climate change charity. What a bloody legend. We also tackle the controversy surrounding the big G this week and fairly dispute each side of the debate as well as weigh in on what we think might be the ramifications of their actions. Since recording this episode, the European courts have ruled against Gibson on their trademark of the Flying V shape, which is a bit of a setback for Gibson’s crusade at very least. We will have to keep our collective ear to ground on this topic to see how it unfolds.

Throw us a 5-star review on Itunes to help us soar up the ranks and sharing the cast helps us immensely also.

BudgetPedalChap and Matt are joined by our very special guest and long time Fret Talk host, Mr Ayrton Tracey to tackle the weeks guitar news head on…and of course by that I mean procrastinate for most of an hour about what we have been up to and then cram some news in last minute. I mean, come on, give us a break, we haven’t had Ayrton on in a while so of course we are going to catch up with our main man. We discuss some of his most recent gigging exploits and varying degrees of success with this as well as the dangers of exercise! We also drizzle in a smattering of news, but you’ll have to listen for that. Don’t forget to hop over to PBOD to find out how you could win an Origin Effects Cali76 compact, of which I am totally jealous that I can’t enter the competition.

BudgetPedalChap and Lee go it alone this week with the absence of Mr Quine, who decided to go for a right old jolly! We don’t blame him as he is one of the hardest working men in showbusiness, so he deserves a good week off! We chat about all manner of guitary nonsense this week, including an inuendo named blend unit, the most expensive single pickup signature guitar I think that has ever been created and a transparent fuzz circuit! Oh also, you may want to pay extra close attention because details to win an amazing Origin Effects Cali 76 compact compressor pedal are held deep within the cast. Thank you so much for taking this ride with us this week and we look forward to you tuning in for many more to come!

BudgetPedalChap, Matt and Lee join forces once more to bring you the latest in guitar news. We get down and dirty with the new Gibson line up, which happens to have made some rather interesting changes, but of course, you’ll have to listen for the details. We talk about some tasty little picks in the PRS line up too, from more budget friendly models, to some American made offerings. We also get all chatty about the new products from our pals over at pedal patch, amongst some other shenanigans. Thanks once again for your patronage and if you haven’t already, take a look below and get yourself singed up to PBOD and the Fret Talk Podcast groups for news and weekly guitar chat too.

BudgetPedalChap and Matt Quine do a podcast, as per the usual. We discuss the unearthing of some old guitars and how that can inspire some creativity. We get all talky talky about some new offerings coming from our man at Fletcher pickups and the first impressions on the new set in the Snotburst SG. We take a peek at some of the most interesting picks from the guitar media recently, mulling over some sound clips of the new Danelectro series of pedals and Snake Oil pedals. We take a peak at a tasty pick from the Harley Benton range thanks to InTheBlues and check out DaveRage with his review of the amazing Maybury Dante T-type. Thanks once again for your patronage and if you haven’t already, take a look below and get yourself singed up to PBOD and the Fret Talk Podcast groups for news and weekly guitar chat too.

BudgetPedalChap and Lee Pedabodadoo take on some more technical issues, but you’d never know because I have a magical edit button! If there is anyone who is faced with issues, you are always welcome to talk to us, no one need suffer in silence. We tackle some guitar news also in the form of a JHS/Behringer video and some speculation on the, now announced, Gibson line up as well as much, much more. Thanks once again for your patronage and if you haven’t already, take a look below and get yourself singed up to PBOD and the Fret Talk Podcast groups for news and weekly guitar chat too.

BudgetPedalChap and Matt Quine ride headlong into the fields of guitar, ready for another valiant battle with this weeks news. This week, we get all Game of Thrones on things and talk about the custom shop releases by Fender. If you are hoping that we explain why this has happened, you are out of luck, I don’t think anyone quite understands it, to be fair. We talk about some game changing stuff from our chaps and chapettes over at MXR and, as per usual, indulge in our weekly events, discussing topics such as alternative tunings and Music as a tool of encouragement and therapy. Thanks once again for your patronage and if you haven’t already, take a look below and get yourself singed up to PBOD and the Fret Talk Podcast groups for news and weekly guitar chat too.
