Fret Talk

BudgetPedalChap is joined this week by Lee of Doom and the Matt Quine of the podcasting world, mr Matt Quine, again for another week jam packed with news and guitar related stories. This week we delve into some NAMM announcements that are finally hitting the shops from the big F, touching upon the first of their alternative reality offerings as well as some rather pricey artist inspired guitars. We talk in depth about how brilliant we believe the Richter Matt Heafy double strap is and how we will get completely behind it… I can’t even finish that sentence, it looks terrible. W talk about a few pedal announcements as well as some teaser info from some others, which sparks a little bit of digital discussion. Thanks once again for your patronage and if you haven’t already, take a look below and get yourself singed up to PBOD and the Fret Talk Podcast groups for news and weekly guitar chat too.

BudgetPedalChap, Matt and Ayrton jump headlong into a steaming vat of guitar news for this weeks Fret Talk Podcast. This was supposed to be the PBOD live cast, but with the issues that we had on the tech end, it was not possible. We did however, record a wonderful supplement episode so that you got your podcastly fix. This week we talk about some awesome stuff coming from Epiphone and a rather fetching thang appearing in the Squier CV line up too. We get chatting about Danelectro and their new, oddly-tarnished pedal line as well as some rather interesting tales of our week.

BudgetPedalChap is joined once again by Mr Matt Quine this week for plenty of guitar related shenanigans. We talk about the weekly goings on including a little something Gibson happening over with Matt which includes our old friend the Guitar Geek, as well as some more lovely pedal reviews coming up soon from our resident budget pedal connoisseur. We discuss the incredibly originally named Joyo wah pedals and a certain plug-in that boasts some of the awesome features of the variax but without having to buy a variax. Also don’t forget you can join in live with the PBOD live casts every other Sunday over on the PBOD group – have your say!

BudgetPedalChap and Lee Doom are joined by none other than Sean Pierce Johnson from the internet!!! We dive into some of our weekly happenings, including frustration of learning songs note for note, trying to convince a DD500 that it wants to perfectly recreate an Echorec and some musings from our new boy. We discuss the new offerings by JHS in the form of the whitey tighty and the clover. We take a look at a little mental octave thang by the crazy people over at Fuzzrocious, as well as getting all high class with our brand spotlight on Alder and Ash pedalboards. It is an absolute hoot so enjoy yourself this week, don’t forget you can join in live with the PBOD live casts every other Sunday over on the PBOD group – have your say!

BudgetPedalChap, Matt and Ayrton ride triumphantly into the battlefield of guitar news, and of course by that I mean talk for well over half the cast about what they’ve been up to for the week. We discuss a recent strat shopping trip, some handy recording techniques and some woeful gigging tales. We chat about the new big box pedals from Fredric Effects, which is a massively fuzzy affair and includes some pretty whacky, unventured areas of fuzzdom. Here is a game for you in this episode; try and figure out at which point Ayrton goes for a massive dump - answers on a postcard.  We extend our thanks to you listeners for choosing us week on week, without you, we wouldn’t be here so hats off to you!

BudgetPedalChap, The Man from Man Matt Quine and Mr Lee Doom join forces to bring you an amazing live (but obviously not live now) spectacular number 4! Lee brings our attention to all of the hard work he has been doing with prettying up the look of the live stream, which translates amazingly to this podcast; you can almost picture the layout! We talk about the song of March and how we may have not put as much effort into the February song as we could have. Needless to say, I will be getting on that and recording my attempt soon. This week’s cast is a Fender-tacular, with mention of the rejuvenated Classic Vibe series from Squier and the way more affordable Alternative Reality series from Fender. We tackle some listener queries too and also throw in a bit of chat about movie sequels.  We extend our thanks to you listeners for choosing us week on week, without you, we wouldn’t be here so hats off to you!

BudgetPedalChap, and Matt ‘Hi Matt’ Quine charge head first into the battlefield of guitar news to bring you the latest and mostly newsliest of all the guitar news. This week, Mr PedalChap took a visit to the Birmingham guitar show and met some absolutely lovely people, including some of our old interview chaps (go check them out if you haven’t already). We mention some rather tasty picks from Eastman guitars, TateFX, ThorpyFX, Zander Circuitry, Gray guitar, Honeyboy amps and many more. There is 100% less talk of Russian genitals in this episode, but some of you will be glad to hear that the inappropriate accents are back in full effect.

BudgetPedalChap, Matt and Lee track down the guitar news and give it a thorough talking to with this week’s episode of Fret Talk PBOD live. Matt walks us through his new purchases from HSE audio and we discuss the misinformation that boutique pedals cost $15 to make so why are they charging hundreds for them! We get our chat on about some of the NAMM releases by Gibson as well, mentioning stuff from their custom shop including signatures from two rather well-known artists. The month of Feb is sponsored by Fletcher pickups, who make some bloody good stuff. You can find them over at www.fletcherpickups.co.uk where you can order a number of stock options or even chat with Ben to spec up your own winds. All are hand wound in the UK and come in at an incredible price; do your tone a service and go check them out.

BudgetPedalChap, Matt and Ayrton travel down the NAMM highway of guitar news. We get all technical about guitar practice and the joys of tabbing. We discuss some cool NAMMy news including a new pedal from those lovely chaps over at TC, as well as mentioning a reinvigoration of the ol Revstart and Variax ranges. We become totally dumfounded by the concept of a certain product that, if we are quite honest, seems like two completely unrelated products were drawn from a hat and told they must be combined. Seriously, who needs those to things put together?! The month of February is sponsored by Fletcher pickups, who this week get a good couple of mentions because we forgot to on the last live cast. Whoops!
