Dr. Adi Jaffe grew up in Tel Aviv, and when he moved to the US he had some challenges assimilating and figuring his life out. This led to drugs, alcohol, and a swat team arriving at his door. His story reads just like a movie, and because of that, I don’t want to spoil the ending for you. You’ll just want to hear it for yourself.

Today’s Topic: Enjoying the journey instead of stressing over your goals
There’s a paradox with highly successful people: The bigger the goal, the bigger their desire, the more stress, anxiety, and unhappiness they have. I’ve dealt with this myself. I have a lot on my plate, and it can be stressful. Kim has been reading these Gabby Bernstein books lately, and this led to me uncovering the challenges I have around goal-setting. And what Gabby introduced me to is the concept of surrender. We’re going to talk about how surrendering control of your goals can not only help you remain happier but maybe even accomplish your goals faster.

Six or seven years ago, I was at the Delano hotel in Miami and I saw some guy telling stories in the pool. After a couple of cocktails, I was laughing my ass off. I don’t know who he is, he’s offensive, but I love him. The following year, I’m in Mykonos, and would you believe I hear the same voice again? A year later, I’m in the Crown Room at JFK, and I see them there again. So who was this guy?
His name is Wayne Diamond, known as “the Garmento.” In the 70’s and 80’s he dominated the women’s dresses and jumpsuit market, and made a fortune. As luck would have it, he ran into the Safdie Brothers, who created the new Adam Sandler movie Uncut Gems, and they fell in love with him. There was no controlling this interview, I just laughed and enjoyed the ride, and I’m sure you will too.

Strauss Zelnick was the chairman and CEO of Columbia Music, the CEO of BMG Entertainment, and the president and CEO of 20th Century Fox. He got his MBA and law degree from Harvard. We talked about all the areas of his life, and how he’s been able to compartmentalize the areas so he’s clear about what he is going to execute. This episode is a recording of a masterclass we did with my mastermind members, and it was so good that we wanted it shared with all of you.

We all know those people who talk about wanting to make some changes in their life, or they have some big idea, but they never seem to do anything about it. No matter how clear it is what they have to do, no matter what deadlines are set, it just doesn’t happen. And some people just take action. We talk about the differences between these two people, and how those procrastinators can start taking action now.
